    Abstract:

    To have a profound understanding of Educational Practice in Sichuan normal universities and colleges,this research,based on empirical study by interviewing students from two of such universities and colleges,will review fields of Educational Practice from a new perspective.Problems have been found during the interviews,such as a lack of awareness of Educational Practice,a shortage of real and stable Educational Practice bases,simple form and limited time for Educational Practice,unreasonable arrangement of terms,a lack of basic teaching skills before Educational Practice,relative lag of their vocational skills training,a lack of education novitiate and study,the formal tendency in trial teaching and microteaching,the poor content and narrow range for Educational Practice,little guidance from teachers,non-standard criterion in the evaluation of Practice etc.

    We put forward the reform orientation for Educational Practice in Sichuan normal universities and colleges in the future,with aims to improve normal students' awareness of acquiring practical knowledge,develop the full-integrated Educational Practice mode,boost the practical skills and qualities of normal students,found stable Educational Practice bases,strengthen the establishment of the team of supervisors and the scientific,standard as well as strict evaluation system,and finally promote the further reform of Educational Practice in Sichuan normal universities and colleges.

    Abstract:

    Educational Practice in teachers colleges and universities,as an important teaching aspect of the teacher education,has been regarded as the main method to promote normal students' professional development.Therefore,it plays an important role in the development of normal students,for it generates practical knowledge continually to guide the Practice effectively.This research will theoretically analyze how such Educational Practice is carried out to promote the acquisition of normal students' practical knowledge,and reflect on the theories on which Educational Practice is based from the perspectives of students' inspiration,experiences' value,students' knowledge establishment,introspection into experiences,pan-Practice strategies' integration and the like.

  • ‘These are your Title I students’: Policy language in Educational Practice

    Abstract:

    Based on a qualitative study of the United States federal compensatory education policy, Title I of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, this article uses interpretive policy analysis to investigate the ways in which policy language influences practitioners' understanding of students who are eligible for policy-funded services. Focusing on the situated interpretations of practitioners in nine urban elementary schools, the study shows how policy-generated categories shape practitioners' conceptualizations of students as they determine how to provide services. The aricle considers possible consequences of policy labels on teacher expectations and ends with an appeal for the collective, reflective interrogation of policy language in Educational Practice.

    Abstract:

    Bloom’s work stressed the importance of cognitive entry behaviors to a large extent. In this article, we give an overview of the conceptual advances that have been made during the past decades concerning the outdated term ‘cognitive entry behaviors’. Moreover, we search for further evidence in research that will highlight from different perspectives the great importance that Bloom assumed for this factor in learning situations. Explanations for the influence of prior knowledge on learning are reviewed. Finally, some short comments are made concerning Bloom’s work in relation to new Educational developments, Educational Practice, and teaching.

    Educational Practice is an integrated Practice course with teacher features in normal colleges,and it has special functions to ensure that the goals of teacher education and training can be realized.But there are still some problems about the Educational Practice in our country's normal colleges recently.This paper analyzes the current Educational Practice status and problems in normal colleges,learns from foreign successful Educational Practice experiences,and puts forward that the Educational Practice mode should be improved further.
