The Assessment Methods of the Level of Countries Environmental Safety
Procedia Manufacturing, 2018Co-Authors: Vladimir Glinskiy, Lyudmila Serga, Mariya Khvan, Kirill ZaykovAbstract:Abstract The article considers the problems of the analysis of the Environmental Safety in Russia against the world community. The research describes the experience of formation of the Environmental indicators by various international organizations (IEA, OECD, World Bank, ECE etc.). A parallel was drawn with the Russian statistical database and the differences were revealed. A unique indicator system was formed, it is reasonable to use it at the Russian and international level for the analysis of the Environmental Safety of the territories. The suggestions for enhancement of the indicator system, used for assessment of the Environmental state at the world and domestic level, were developed. The algorithms of measurement of the Environmental sustainability of various territorial units were offered. A complex of economical-mathematical and statistical methods was used to carry out the study. The groupings, typologies and classifications of the countries by the level of the Environmental sustainability were obtained as a result. The problem points, aggravating the Environmental situation of the territories under investigation, were also revealed, and the ways to overcome them were pointed out.

A Spatio-dynamic Modelling of Environmental Safety of the Russian Federation Regions ☆
Procedia Manufacturing, 2017Co-Authors: Vladimir Glinskiy, Lyudmila Serga, Mariya Khvan, Kirill ZaykovAbstract:Abstract In this paper, authors suggest an approach to the modelling of the Environmental Safety of the Russian regional socio-economic systems. Geostatistical methods are used for modelling. They allow to consider spatial relationships between regions and to carry out an analysis of stationarity and spatial variability of the data set describing the Environmental security. Assessment of ecological Safety of the Russian Federation regions was carried out by the use of the econometric model developed by the authors, and the typology of the regions was performed. This typology allowed to allocate four groups of regions and to develop strategies for their governance. The resulting economic and mathematical model of Environmental Safety of regional system is needed not only for spatio-dynamic monitoring of the regions ecological status but also for identify sources and factors of Environmental problems.

Fuzzy Neural Networks in the Assessment of Environmental Safety
Procedia CIRP, 2016Co-Authors: Vladimir Glinskiy, Lyudmila Serga, Mariya Khvan, Kirill ZaykovAbstract:Abstract The article focuses on the problem of assessing the level of the fuzzy phenomena as Environmental Safety territorial entities. The study presents a solution to this problem by neural networks. Application of neural networks allows to overcome the lack of available information on the input and to carry out the correct assessment of the Environmental Safety of territorial entities. Method of training a neural network is used for this. The advantages of using fuzzy neural networks are the flexibility and the opportunity to work directly with implicit parameters and criteria known to approximate or unknown data; a tolerance of ambiguities and contradictions of used data. This technique allowed solve the following tasks: to carry out a typology of subjects of the Russia in terms of Environmental Safety and to develop scenarios increase their security; to perform a forecast of changes in their development, taking into account Environmental factors.

Environmental Safety of the region new approach to assessment
Procedia CIRP, 2015Co-Authors: Vladimir Glinskiy, Lyudmila Serga, Mariya KhvanAbstract:Abstract The ecology becomes a limiting factor for the sustainable development of the country in general, as well as its certain regions. The issue of assessment of the level of ecological Safety of territories arises. The article considers the assessment technique of the composite index of Environmental Safety by aggregation of three indicators reflecting social and economic development, ecological conditions and human capacity of the region. The aggregation is offered to be carried out by means of the method of multivariate average. Official data of the Federal State Statistics Service is used for the calculation of indicators. Original aggregate is divided into two or three groups by each indicator and composite index of Environmental Safety of the region. It makes it possible to define a place of the region in space of indicators, to identify type of the studied territory by the level of Environmental Safety and to develop effective strategies of ecological Safety management both for a separate territorial unit and for homogeneous groups. The suggested methodology makes it possible to obtain rather adequate estimates for main territorial levels of management – municipal, subjective, district.

Introducing Nursing Students to an Environmental Safety Assessment Through Simulation
Teaching and Learning in Nursing, 2018Co-Authors: Johanna Boothby, Elaine B. LittleAbstract:Abstract In response to the Institute of Medicine report criticizing health care professionals' competence in providing safe patient care, health care educators were challenged to transform their nursing programs. One powerful tool in developing competent nurses, without endangering patients, is simulation. This article discusses advantages and disadvantages of using simulation as a teaching strategy and describes how to teach Environmental Safety concepts to beginning nursing students, through a simulated patient room using an Environmental Safety assessment.
