Objectives To characterize 2-month to 12-month Infradian Rhythms in the mean awake and asleep systolic blood pressure (SBP) and diastolic blood pressure (DBP) in humans. Methods A total of 1689 participants underwent 24-h ambulatory blood pressure monitoring during different periods of the year. The mean daily temperature, humidity, barometric pressure and wind velocity values for the same time span and geographical location were obtained. Fourier analysis was used to fit 12-month, 6-month, 4-month, 3-month and 2-month Rhythms to the mean awake and asleep SBP and DBP and to metereological variables. Results The awake mean SBP and DBP values showed significant 12-month and 3-month Rhythms (respectively, R 2 = 55%, P < 0.001 and R 2 = 45% P< 0.001), with a peak in July (winter) and a trough-peak difference of 6.2 ± 1.6 mmHg (P<0.001, SBP) and 4.2 ± 1.5 mmHg (P< 0.001, DBP). In contrast, asleep blood pressure means showed mainly 3-month Rhythms (SBP, R 2 = 19%, P < 0.02; DBP, R 2 = 43% P<0.02). Mean daily temperature and humidity showed at 12-month, 6-month, 4-month, 3-month and 2-month Rhythms, barometric pressure showed 12-month and 6-month Rhythms, and wind velocity showed 12-month and 3-month Rhythms. Minimal temperature values and maximal humidity values coincided with elevated blood pressure values. Conclusion Awake blood pressure means exhibited mainly circannual fluctuations while asleep blood pressure means showed principally 3-month Rhythms. Infradian blood pressure variations correlated with some meteorological variables.

Infradian Rhythms of the esophageal epithelium mitotic activity and corticosterone and thyroxin levels in Japanese quails Coturnix japonica

DiatroptovAbstract:An everyday investigation of the dynamics of the blood serum corticosterone and thyroxin levels, as well as the esophageal epithelium proliferation activity of male Japanese quails has been conducted over the period of 16 days. A 4-day rhythm of the corticosterone serum level occurring synchronically in the bodies of different individuals was discovered. A 3-day biorhythm of the thyroxin level was shown. The mitotic index figures in the esophageal epithelium negatively correlated with the corticosterone level. The revealed Infradian Rhythms of the thyroxin corticosterone and thyroxin levels as well as those of the esophageal epithelium mitotic index should not be overlooked white planning and carrying out the experiments concerning the determination of the level of these hormones and the mitotic activity of epithelial tissues.

Infradian Rhythms of Resistance to a Dissociative Anesthetic in Wistar Male Rats under Normal Conditions and After Surgical Removal of the Adrenal Glands and Testes

DiatroptovAbstract:Daily dynamics of changes in the latency of a response to dissociative anesthetic tiletamine (time from injection to ataxia) was studied in mature Wistar rats. Both intramuscular and intravenous administration of the anesthetic was associated with 4-day oscillations of the latent period synchronous with the dynamics of changes in the concentration of glucocorticoid hormones. The period and phases of the Infradian rhythm of resistance to the anesthetic remained unchanged after removal of both adrenal glands and testes and administration of corticosterone synthesis blocker trilostane diminishing the 4-day cycle of changes in corticosterone level. Therefore, hormones of the adrenal glands and testes do not play the key role in the mechanisms of formation of the 4-day Infradian rhythm.

Infradian BioRhythms of Mitotic Activity Esophageal Epithelium in Male Wistar Rats

MakarovaAbstract:Infradian Rhythms of esophageal epithelium mitotic activity were studied in male Wistar rats of two age groups: 35-45 days (prepubertal) and 3-4 months (adults). Studies of the time course of esophageal epithelium mitotic indexes in adult males showed 4- and 12-day bioRhythms, while prepubertal rats exhibited only 4-day Infradian bioRhythms of this parameter. Studies of the mitotic activity over long periods (3 years) showed 4.058- and 12.175-day periodicity of Infradian bioRhythms for this parameter, presumably due to external exposures synchronizing the bioRhythms. Studies of the mean daily values of the Bz component of interplanetary magnetic field during the period of our research (2012-2013) showed rhythmicities analogous to changes in the mitotic activity of the epithelium. The minimum mitotic indexes were detected on the days of the most pronounced negative values of the interplanetary magnetic field Bz component.

Diatroptov, Yu E Simonova, M A DiatroptovaAbstract:The levels of cortisol, free and total thyroxin in the serum of the 6 th woman of 23-33 aged old in the follicular phase of menstrual cycle was studied by ELISA method. The cortisol level was fluctuated during the 4-day period. The levels of free and total thyroxin were changed in the 3-day period. Both fluctuations were synchronous in all studied woman. Revealed biological Rhythms of glucocorticoids and thyroid hormones should be taken into account when hormonal and immunologic status of healthy woman is researched and corrective methods of pathologic states are developed.
