By modelling the key variables and their interactions in the Innovation Adoption process, this research seeks to demonstrate the complexity and dynamics of the process. This research uses causal loop modelling and develops a holistic model of the current Innovation Adoption system in the Australian beef industry to show the complexity of dynamic interactions among multiple variables. It is suggested that Innovation Adoption is such an extremely complex issue, and we need to shift our views on this issue from a paradigm of linear thinking to systems thinking. Innovation Adoption is more likely to be enhanced based on a full understanding of the complexity and dynamics of the system as a whole. The paper demonstrates to practitioners and developers of Innovation the multiple variables and interactions impacting Innovation Adoption. Copyright © 2014 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.

A causal loop model of Innovation Adoption system in the Australian beef industry was built based on various sources of literature and fieldwork findings in Queensland Australia. Further analysis of the systems model and fieldwork findings revealed the systemic structures of Innovation Adoption system in the Australian beef industry which underlie the complexity and dynamics of Innovation Adoption behaviour. To the utmost importance is this research also externalized key mental models of different actors within in the beef production system. Organizational Slack and Information Technology Innovation Adoption in SMEs
E-Business Applications for Product Development and Competitive Growth, 1Co-Authors: Jaume Franquesa, Alan BrandyberryAbstract:This study explores the relevant dimensions of organizational slack in small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and investigates their impact on Adoption of different types of information technology (IT) Innovations. Using recent data from a representative sample of 2,296 U.S. SMEs, we find that the slack-Innovation relationships previously described in larger firms do not hold well for SMEs. Our results show potential slack (measured as access to external credit) to be a strong predictor of technology Adoption in SMEs. By contrast, available slack appeared not to be a significant factor in SME Innovation Adoption. Moreover, the direction of the effects of potential slack was moderated by the capital-intensity of the Innovation. In particular, e-commerce, which required lesser financial resources for SME Adoption, was found to be pursued by those with lesser potential slack. We argue that, in some cases, Innovation Adoption may represent a form of “bricolage” by resource constrained SMEs.

Insight into Adoption processes, its inhibitors and stimulators helps suppliers of Innovations to market their new products more effectively. The objective of this paper is to discuss the main findings on organizational Adoption and integrate them within a framework. The framework that we propose addresses the Adoption decision at two levels, i.e. the organizational level and the individual adopter within an organization. We integrate research on Innovation Adoption and technology acceptance that have emerged in the marketing and management literature and identify several research issues that need further attention.

Considering the significant gap in the conceptualization and operationalization of social Innovation Adoption behavior in the literature, the aim of this study is to provide an insight to the Adoption behavior of social Innovations. The effects of perceived usefulness, perceived enjoyment, perceived ease of use and need for approval are investigated within the context of time bank activities in Turkey. The result of the analysis supported the significant effect of all independent variables with a higher impact of perceived enjoyment.
