    Abstract:

    The use of Instructional Media is of vital importance in the teaching and learning of the basic sciences in primary and secondary schools as it drives home the lesson points of the subject being taught and reduces stress for both the teachers and students. The imaginative use of well-planned visual aids during classroom lessons does not boost academic performances of students learning physics, chemistry, biology, technology and mathematics. This research investigates the impact of Instructional Media or design usage on the learning outcomes of students in the basic sciences in Lagos, Nigeria. The research design is Quasi-Experimental. The sample population consists of an experimental and a control group. The experimental group is taught with Instructional Media for a fortnight. The findings show that the use of Instructional Media positively impacted the learning outcomes of the students, thus highlighting then vital essence of using Instructional Media during lessons for enhancement of students’ learning.Keywords: Instructional Media, Academic Performance, Students, Basic Science, Basic Technology, Education District

    Task instruction may be presented in many forms. However, training system designers are often forced to depend on intuition when choosing a presentation medium. Though past research has investigated the effectiveness of Instructional Media types, results have been mixed with no clear recommendations of which medium to use for instruction. An organizational framework for matching the appropriate medium or Media to a learning situation is necessary for progress to occur in this research area. Through three experiments, we investigated the attributes of audio and video as Instructional Media, identified tasks for which we might predict the most beneficial Instructional Media, and tested our proposed organizational framework by manipulating the difficulty of the task and the complexity of the instructions.     Abstract:

    Ideally, a public relations practitioner should master the techniques of writing and know the PR script forms because it is very helpful in daily Public relations activities. PR writing learning is learning that operates on the ability of writing mainly on PR with a goal after studying script writing techniques of public relation, the student can produce Media kit in the form of PR script that can be used as tools in the exercise of his profession. This research aims to look at the use of PR writing learning package flipbook as an Instructional Media. This research used quantitative approach with data analysis using descriptive statistics. Learning outcomes of the students using PR Writing learning package flipbook as an Instructional Media increases as much as 94% compared to students who did not use the flipbook PR writing as much as 54%. The existence of optimal learning outcomes, then it can be said that the use of PR writing learning package Flipbook as an Instructional Media can make the students get effective and efficient learning resource more easily.
