    Abstract:

    This article reviews the relationship between Work values, emotional Intelligence, Work environment and career commitment in the banking industry. In future, the banking industry will be dominated by the new Workforce, millennial generation or Generation Y, a generation whose behaviors and characteristics is different from the older generation before them. Generation Y is known as a very expressive generation, who as employees are confident but lacks career commitment and not interested in meticulous details; they present different views on Work and duties. Generation Y, unlike employees of previous generations, tend to think that they have the competitive edge; no emotional connection or Workplace loyalty. When job expectations are not met, they are more likely to switch jobs.  The proposed study will be useful for all leaders and managers in the banking industry to gain a greater understanding of the Work values of Generation Y employees. Consequently, this study may contribute useful knowledge in gaining career commitment among the Generation Y Workforce

    Abstract:

    This article reviews the relationship between Work values, emotional Intelligence, Work environment and career commitment in Indonesia banking industry. The future banking industry will be filled by Generation Y or millennial who has different behavior and characteristics of previous generations. Generation Y, known as a generation that is very expressive, confident but does not have a career commitment and is not interested in details and has a different view from the previous generation. Generation Y tends to think that they are able to compare with other companies and there is no emotional connection or loyalty to the company as the previous Workforce. If they feel their expectations of career aren't being met, they will switch jobs. A pilot test of 50 respondents at Mandiri bank, Jakarta were surveyed. This finding reports the significant and positive impact of Work values, emotional Intelligence and Work environment on career commitment. The result indicated that career commitment was influenced by Work values, emotional Intelligence and Work environment. The discussion outlines the results of the research while the implications are taken to put forward the theoretical and practical contributions of this research.

    Abstract:

    This research paper discusses the profile of emotional Intelligence, Work/family conflict, and Work values among 437 purposively selected customer service representatives (CSRs) from the Middle East, Iran, Pakistan, Russia, India, and the Philippines. Moreover, the study leads to a set of organizational change development programs to assist organizations to cope with their diversity concerns. The descriptive, comparative-correlational methods were employed as this paper also aims to find the correlates of emotional Intelligence such as Work/family conflict, and Work values. The researchers utilized several instruments, namely the Demographic Profile Sheet, Emotional Competence Inventory, Work/Family Conflict Scale, and Work Values Inventory. The general findings reveal that there is a significant relationship between emotional Intelligence and Work/family conflict, particularly on the areas of self- management, social awareness and relationship management; whereas, there is a significant relationship between emotional Intelligence (particularly on the clusters of self- management, social awareness and relationship management) and Work values (specifically in the areas of management, achievement, supervisory relations, way of life, and independence). The organizational development support programs with emphasis on diversity management have been recommended to set future directions for call center organizations involved in the study.

    This chapter is about how the information professional could contribute to their organisation’s competitive Intelligence Work. Information professionals are familiar with the phases of the Work; we have the competence and the tools to do it and we can make valuable contributions. However, there are some challenges in making the possible contributions visible both to ourselves and to our clients, not least the contributions to the analysis of the information. In this chapter the different roles in competitive Intelligence Work are listed. These roles can be taken on by the information professional. It is described how this could be done and how information professionals can Work together with other units in the organisation to start up or improve systematic competitive Intelligence. This paper discusses deeply the sci-tech tech Intelligence Work in counterIntelligence,makes the use of the concept of shadow team and reverse thinking transformation in counterIntelligence research, and from the angles of attack and defense, and through effectively monitoring and simulating Intelligence opponents, conducts a reasonable predict of the sci-tech development direction to ensure the security of the sci-tech Intelligence and the smooth progress of Intelligence Work,and based on this,puts forward a function model applied by the shadow team in counterIntelligence research,bring a new visual angle for sci-tech Intelligence research.
