    Abstract:

    Quality of life relies on also the quality of working context and the group dynamic. Culture of Schools, trust and Leadership facilitate quality in fostering strategic policies in establishing policy and development. The aim of the research study is to examine the role of Leadership, trust for school culture in regard to the perceptions of inspectors. As this research stands on qualitative nature, experiences, perceptions of research participants shape the current understanding to give insights on the role of Leadership, trust. In addition, establishing school culture is a part of quality to set policy in terms of development, inspection is a moderation of encapsulating the nature of school culture. Interview was employed to gain understanding and experiences of inspectors in relation to Leadership, trust for the school culture. Mission, vision of Schools, principles of Schools, loyalty to Schools, policies, objectives of practices in Schools, social interaction in Schools. Thematic analysis through laddering was done that five themes were established in examining Leadership, trust in the school culture. It is important that employees in the training organization act in a joint view on implementing educational objectives. This is achieved by developing positive attitudes in people and by being able to act constructively with each other. The research results revealed that the inspectors who are currently working at the Ministry of National Education have their views on the mission, vision and Leadership of Schools and what they think about school culture trust in Schools.

    Abstract:

    This article examines the conditions for the growth and expansion of research-engaged Schools in England. The current policy climate is seeing a rapid growth of autonomous Schools coupled with the continuing tendency to hold Schools to account for overall student educational attainment indicators. Within this context, the article begins by considering some of the benefits of developing a research-led school culture and gives a brief account of the research-engaged school movement. Using a biological analogy, the article argues for an understanding of the growth of a school research culture as occurring within an interconnected ecosystem. Four ‘nourishing’ factors are explained in detail: systemic connectedness; Leadership for knowledge creation; teaching as a research-informed practice; and the school as a learning organisation. School leaders are urged to consider developing a culture of research engagement as a long-term, sustainable improvement strategy.

  • Planning for future Leadership of Schools: an Australian study

    Abstract:

    There is growing evidence of a worldwide shortage of persons willing to apply for vacant principal positions in Schools. Reports a study about why more persons are not applying for principal positions in Catholic Schools in New South Wales, Australia. An analysis of the career aspirations of those eligible and likely to apply at some stage for a principal position revealed a high level of “unwilling” respondents. Ranks and discusses ten factors identified from a study of their perceptions of issues that would discourage or encourage them to apply. The most significant negative factor is the impact on family and personal life. Others include gender issues and the nature of the selection and interview process. The significant positive factor is that principals have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of others. Reflections on the findings include addressing the changing nature of school culture, the implications for the principalship and the need to develop a culture of Leadership in Schools.
