    Abstract:

    Since the advent and astronomical rise of the Internet and E-business, organizations must secure their computer systems or risk malicious attacks. While there have been several software Lifecycle Process standards (SLPS) for both military and industrial software development, their activities and deliverables are not yet integrated with security engineering (SE) activities. This lack of integration has created conflicts among the system development stakeholders (e.g. system acquirers and developers) during secure information systems development projects. This paper proposes an integration model that interweaves all the Process activities and deliverables of SLPS with SE activities, taking IEEE/EIA 12207 as an example of SLPS. This model provides practical guidelines for the development of secure information systems while informing stakeholders how SLPS is related to the SE activities.

    In developing an information systems (IS), most organizations have preferred a traditional add-on approach that adds commercial security products after an IS development project is finished. However, a number of recent incidents with regard to IS security indicate that this approach does not guarantee IS security because commercial products are not designed for the specific organizational IS environments. As an alternative solution, previous studies suggested that organizations integrate both the security engineering (SE) Process and software development Lifecycle (SDLC) Process standards. Unfortunately, a few studies tried to suggest the limited integration models. In this paper, as a practical way for the development of secure IS, we suggest two SE Process models. First, we develop the generalized SE model that includes all SE activities through the whole SDLC. Secondly, we suggest the Process integration model that interweaves SE with IEEE/EIA 12207 through Delphi analysis.

    Abstract:

    This paper proposes a model, namely eL-PCDA, for overall Lifecycle Process management on e-Learning service by considering learner's behaviours during e-learning services, scheduling policies and monitoring mechanism of learning activities. Business Process modeling for e-Learning services can be taken according to the study ordering of the knowledge points by using workflow modeling technology and Process enactment mechanism. Overall Lifecycle Process management of Knowledge is addressed by combining knowledge product modeling, knowledge resource modeling, and credit polices for member selection in research team by considering trust value of learners, advisers and providers in e-Learning services. The proposed method can be used for supporting the sustainable development of e-Learning services from planning and design, organizing e-Learning Process, maintenance e-Learning Process, to Process improvement, as well as to support learners and advisers to effectively complete innovative team study and complex computation study.

    As the relationship between knowledge management and e-learning becomes closer and closer and the rapid development of the technology related with Computer Supported Collaborative Learning (CSCL), an appropriate kind of knowledge management mechanism supporting overall e-learning Lifecycle Process is needed to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of e-learning. Therefore, an SADT-based e-learning Process architecture and an SOA-based knowledge management mechanism are proposed respectively. After that, we discuss the Process management model of e-learning from an overall Lifecycle perspective. At last, the corresponding knowledge management architecture is presented to further support this Process management.

In this way, for example, modern engineering systems should commonly be developed in terms of innovative lightweight designs and, at the same time, offer a wide range of environmental as well as economic advantages across the whole product Lifecycle (PLC). However, are these objectives mutually exclusive or which specific correlations of a multi-criterial optimization within the product development Process exist? Regarding this, the contribution presents the relevance and impact on the product development and Lifecycle Process of a sustainable lightweight design, including close interrelations within the individual lightweight design concepts, e.g. strategies vs. techniques, and in particular on application-independent and application-specific sustainable aspects inside a holistic cross-component lightweight and material-oriented design methodology along the entire value chain (material, production, use, end-of-life).
