However, longitudinal research on the interaction between media Literacy Education and media effects is lacking. In this longitudinal study among 1,947 13–25-year-olds, we started to address this lacuna by examining the potential of porn Literacy Education at schools to attenuate the longitudinal relationship between exposure to sexually explicit Internet material (SEIM) and views of women as sex objects. A two-way interaction effect emerged: The relationship between SEIM and sexist views became weaker, the more users had learned from porn Literacy Education. No gender or age differences occurred. This study thus provides some first evidence for the role of media Education in reducing undesirable media effects.

Effect of Participatory Learning Model on Functional Literacy Education

This research aimed to apply participatory learning model and to find out the effect of participatory learning application on functional Literacy Education in rural community learners. This study was a research and development by producing a participatory learning model product applied to motivate the learners in rural community learning group of Semarang Regency. The design used in developing the model product was ADDIE model. Learning model trial was carried out using experimental research with pretest-posttest control group design. The participants of research involved 2 learning group with 35 learners in experiment group and 30 learners in control group. The result of trial was analyzed using statistic t-test. The result of research showed that (1) the application of participatory learning model could grow active participation and learner independency by utilizing their self-potency and environment, 2) Participatory learning affected positively the improvement of learners’ learning motivation with the mean score difference between pretest and posttest of 12.95 experiment group higher than 4.76 control group, and the learning outcome of learners improved with the mean score difference between pretest and posttest of 0.59 experiment group)higher than 0.3 control group. The application of participatory learning model was made the Literacy acceleration process by involving the learners in functional Literacy Education as the attempt of empowering the rural community. The implications of the participatory learning model on functional Literacy Education can increase the active participation of the learning community, the motivation of learning, and the competence of the learning community. The implications for this participant learning model tutor can increase the creativity and innovation in teaching the learners of functional Literacy Education in rural communities.

Implementation of Functional Literacy Education by Participatory Learning as Effort of Lifelong Learning

Functional Literacy Education was implemented to develop basic Literacy skill which integrated by functional life skill oriented to daily life and learning environment. The present research used qualitative approach. This research was conducted in Semarang district with research subject were learning society, tutor, and Literacy organizer. Data collecting method used observation, deep interview, and documentation. Data analysis used qualitative descriptive including reducing data, presenting data, and making conclusion. The results of present research were: 1) Lifelong acceleration learning effort through implementation of functional Literacy Education was conducted by socialization, planning, and organizing stage which involved related people, 2) Functional Literacy Education by using participative learning including reading, writing, calculating, speaking, and listening were integrated by life skills and local potentials were proved to be able to increase learning motivation, family economic, and life quality of learning society, 3) the effects functional Literacy learning as an effort to lifelong learning for rural society including the developing of the effort as business practice and empowering learning society with life skills toward independence.
