This paper presents a group decision support system model to support committees responsible for water resource management. The model provides a ranking of alternatives through the combined use of the Multicriteria methods PROMETHEE II and ELECTRE IV.

Geodiversity Assessment with Crowdsourced Data and Spatial Multicriteria Analysis

Instead of relying solely on weighted linear combination (WLC) for aggregating factor ratings and weights to compute a synthetic measure of geodiversity, the approach employs WLC in concert with its local version called L-WLC to provide a more comprehensive assessment approach. As part of the approach, the assessment input data comprised of geodiversity factor ratings and weights were obtained through crowdsourcing. A geoinformation crowdsourcing tool called the geo-questionnaire was used to obtain data from 57 Earth science researchers worldwide. These data served as the bases for a group assessment of geodiversity. The reliability of assessment was evaluated by means of spatially explicit uncertainty Analysis. The results showed the efficacy of local spatial Multicriteria Analysis techniques (L-WLC) used in concert with a global technique (WLC) on the example of geodiversity assessment for Karkonosze National Park in southwestern Poland.

Performance Evaluation of Mobile Cloud Services: A Fuzzy Multicriteria Analysis Approach

Hesitant fuzzy sets are used to deal with the conditions where the decision makers hesitate among several values to assess the performance of the alternatives. A hesitant fuzzy Hamacher weighted average operator is used for producing a global value for every mobile cloud service across all evaluation criteria in which the final outcome can be determined. An example is presented to show the applicability and usefulness of the proposed fuzzy Multicriteria Analysis approach.

Fuzzy Multicriteria Analysis for Performance Evaluation of Internet-of-Things-Based Supply Chains

The inherent uncertainty and imprecision of the performance evaluation process was handled by using intuitionistic fuzzy numbers. A new fuzzy Multicriteria group decision making algorithm based on the technique ordered preference by similarity to the ideal solution (TOPSIS) approach, and the concept of similarity measures was developed for determining the overall performance of each alternative. The advantage of the proposed fuzzy Multicriteria Analysis model is that it can overcome the limitations of the existing approaches in an intuitionistic fuzzy environment. The fuzzy Multicriteria group decision-making model provides organizations with the ability to evaluate the performance of their IoT-based supply chains for improving their competitiveness. An example is presented to highlight the usefulness of the proposed model for tackling a real world IoT performance evaluation problem.

ICIS - A Multicriteria Analysis Approach for Benchmarking Open Innovation Practices of IT Organizations

Five important criteria for measuring the open innovation performance of IT organizations are identified. To model the vagueness and imprecision of the decision making process, interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy numbers are used. Based on the concept of the ideal solutions, the closeness coefficient can be obtained for determining the ranking of the alternatives. This Multicriteria Analysis approach helps IT organizations to understand their strengths and weaknesses in terms of their open innovation practices performance, and identify relevant areas for improvement.

A Multicriteria Analysis approach for benchmarking smart transport cities

However, there is still a lack of research done on the comparative performance evaluation of those smart transport systems. Benchmarking is therefore necessary for comparing the performance of smart transport systems in different cities and identifying areas for improvement. This paper develops a Multicriteria Analysis approach for evaluating the performance of different cities based on the smartness of their transportation systems. The subjectiveness and imprecision of the evaluation process are modelled as fuzzy numbers by means of linguistic terms. An efficient algorithm is developed for producing a smartness index for every smart transport city alternative across all evaluation criteria. The approach provides a useful mechanism for relevant transport authorities and agencies to identify main issues concerning their transportation systems and develop key strategies for improving their smart transport systems. An example is presented for demonstrating the applicability of the approach.

Multicriteria Analysis for evaluating and selecting suppliers under uncertainty

Linguistic variables approximated by triangular fuzzy numbers are used for effectively modelling the subjectiveness and imprecision of the decision making process. Pairwise comparison is adopted in the evaluation process for reducing the cognitive demand on the decision maker. A fuzzy Multicriteria Analysis algorithm is developed for generating an overall performance index for every alternative supplier across all criteria. An example is presented that shows the approach is simple and effective for solving the supplier selection problem in real world settings.

Multicriteria Analysis for agricultural resource management: A critical survey and future perspectives

The applications utilize either methods for selecting multiattribute discrete alternatives (including multiattribute utility theory) or methods for solving multiobjective planning problems (including goal programming). Our main purpose is to classify and evaluate the criteria (attributes, objectives) used for modeling agricultural systems and to identify the difficulties for practitioners in applying the methodology. The fields of study in agricultural decisions requiring further investigation are also discussed.
