    Abstract:

    Abstract The plants of wild Origanum Vulgare L. ssp. Vulgare were collected in 10 localities of Vilnius district (Lithuania) in 1995–1999. The main constituents of the essential oils from 8 localities were β-ocimene (14.9–21.6%), germacrene D (10.0–16.2 ), β-caryophyllene (10.8–15.7%) and sabinene (6.6–14.2%). The essential oils from two localities contained only three above compounds as major components: germacrene D, β-ocimene and sabinene or β-caryophyllene, β–ocimene and germacrene D. Three chemotypes of essential oils were identified. The main chemotype was β-ocimene–germacrene D–β-caryophyllene. The terpenic hydrocarbons made up 52.8–80.6% of the essential oils. The 42 identified components made up 85.6–98.0% of the essential oil.

    Abstract:

    Evaluar el efecto antibacteriano in vitro del syzygium aromaticum “clavo de olor” y Origanum Vulgare “orégano” frente al streptococcus mutans ATCC 25175. Material y método: El presente estudio de corte transversal, comparativo, se realizó mediante el método de difusión en agar con disco de Kirby – Bauer para evaluar la sensibilidad bacteriana. Se obtuvieron aceites esenciales de orégano y clavo de olor de la empresa de aromaterapia Ekala, ambos a una concentración del 100%. Asimismo, se consiguió la cepa de Streptococcus mutans ATCC 25175 del laboratorio GenLab del Perú Sac; donde cada cepa se cultivó en placas Petri en agar Müller Hinton y se colocaron discos de papel filtro embebidos con aceites esenciales de clavo de olor y orégano a una concentración del 100% cada una. Estos aceites esenciales fueron comparados con Gluconato de clorhexidina al 0.12% como grupo control. Posteriormente, se incubaron a 37° C por 24 horas, para luego realizar la medición del diámetro del halo de inhibición. Para la confiabilidad de este estudio, se utilizó el método estadístico Kappa. Para el análisis de resultados se empleó el programa estadístico SPSS versión 23 y Excel, para luego presentar los resultados en tablas y gráficos. Resultados: Al evaluar el efecto antibacteriano in vitro del Syzygium aromaticum “clavo de olor” y Origanum Vulgare “orégano” frente al Streptococcus mutans ATCC 25175, se observó que el halo de inhibición del Syzygium aromaticum (100%) tuvo un promedio de 20.09 mm ± 1.87mm, mientras que el halo de inhibición del Origanum Vulgare tuvo un promedio de 14.74 mm ± 0.41. Conclusiones: Se concluye que el mayor promedio fue del Syzygium aromaticum (100%) con un halo de 20.09mm y el menor promedio fue para el Gluconato de Clorhexidina (0,12%) con un halo de 10.63mm.To evaluate the in vitro antibacterial effect of Syzygium aromaticum “clove” and Origanum Vulgare “oregano” against Streptococcus mutans ATCC 25175.     Objetivo:Comparar el efecto in vitro del aceite esencial de Eucalyptus globulus con el aceite esencial de Origanum Vulgare sobre el crecimiento de Candida albicans aislada de paciente con candidiasis vulvovaginal. Material y métodos:Candida albicans aislada de paciente con candidiasis vulvovaginal para las pruebas in vitro.La actividad antifúngica se determinó por el método Kirby y Bauer o de difusión de discos; la concentración inhibitoria mínima (CIM) y la concentración mínima fungicida (CMF) mediante el conteo de las unidades formadoras de colonias (UFC). Principales medidas de resultados: Halos de inhibición, CIM, CMF. Resultados: se determinó que la diferencia de las medias entre los diámetros de los halos de inhibición de las concentraciones al 25%, 50%, 75% y 100% del aceite esencial de Eucalyptus globulus y del aceite esencial de Origanum Vulgare es significativa, ya que p valor .0000, siendo menor que el nivel de significancia (p < 0.05), con lo que se determinó que el primero presentó menor efecto inhibitorio que el segundo. Se determinó que la CMI del aceite esencial de Eucalyptus globulus fue de 50% y del aceite esencial de Origanum Vulgare fue de 25%, en los cuales, se observó ausencia de turbidez. Se observó que solamente el aceite esencial de Origanum Vulgare presentó a partir de la concentración 75% (UFC = 0), el cual fue considerado como la concentración mínima fungicida (CMF).
