MECO - Mapping real-time to POSIX: A simplistic approach for the availability of real-time scheduling for off the shelf embedded Platforms
2015 4th Mediterranean Conference on Embedded Computing (MECO), 2015Co-Authors: Andreas Stahlhofen, Dieter ZöbelAbstract:Researchers in the real-time community have accumulated an enormous theoretical background on scheduling policies and respective assessment criteria. Lots of surveys and textbooks are available which classify the varying approaches. In contrast to this abundance of policies and strategies the availability of real-time scheduling for given Platforms is rather low. Still more frustrating is the lack of easily manageable tools for prototypical test and use of a given Platform. This paper presents an easy-to-use Platform-independent implementation of rate monotonic scheduling policies — in this paper exemplary for (RMS) — based on the POSIX standard. Hence the only Platform Requirement is to provide the used POSIX functions. Although many POSIX API-providers claim to be POSIX compliant or POSIX conform but not POSIX certified there is still no guarantee that the required POSIX subset works as expected. A test on conformity of a Platform by a stepwise organized and self-documenting test suite is proposed in this paper.

Research on Ontologies in Multi Agent System of Reconfigurable Assembly Line
Computer Simulation, 2007Co-Authors: Xiao Tian-yuan, Cims EAbstract:Ontology is significant for providing communication content language in multi agent manufacturing Platform. Requirement of multi agent manufacturing ontology for reconfigurable assembly line was analyzed, and conclusion was made that providing general assembly knowledge and supporting reconfiguration procedure are two important issues and accordingly assembly line ontology was classified as general knowledge ontology and reconfiguration ontology. Reconfigurable assembly line of automotive transmission was made as background and ontology modeling based on this practical manufacturing background was studied. General knowledge ontology was defined by terminology abstraction and property design, Ontology modeling methods were applied to describe relation of product family, assembly process, assembly equipment and assembly line configuration. Also reconfiguration ontology was constructed by performatives reflecting assembly operational knowledge during system reconfiguration and was used to specify the assembly ability of agents. This ontology was used in the multi agent system of reconfigurable assembly line.

LTER Platform: Requirement, Technology and Trend
International Journal of Software Engineering and Its Applications, 2015Co-Authors: Sunil Ahn, Soonwook Hwang, Jihoon Jang, Sung-hee Lee, Seok-kyoo KimAbstract:Objective of the long-term ecological research is to monitor environmental changes due to climate change and track the consequences, to cope with the environmental issues that may arise now and in the future. Long-term ecological research addresses the temporal gap between short-term studies by studying processes on time scales from months to decades. For long-term ecological researches, a system (Cyber Infrastructure) is essential, which can continuously harvest and manage the data about ecosystem changes. Requirements of a long-term ecological research system are very diverse; standardized interface, sharing and data integration, flexibility, standardized vocabulary, and so on. To deal with these issues, countries around the world have been building Platforms that can harvest and manage the data about ecosystem changes for long-term ecological researches. This paper presents Requirements and technologies for the longterm ecological research Platform, and examines current technological trends in order to meet various Requirements of the long-term ecological research.

The Construction of Sports Team Training Information Platform Based on Browser/Server and Client/Server
Networking and Digital Society, 2009. ICNDS '09. International Conference on, 2009Co-Authors: Simin Li, Jinhai SunAbstract:Sports team training management information system basing on the B/S and C/S structure management was exploited by using the theory and methods of system engineering and the data-base technology. The development Platform, Requirement of the system function, the design of major function modules and the system safety of sports team management information system were discussed in order to make the training and management work scientific, standardization, automation, and intellectualization, and to enhance the management quality and achieves effective control over the process of the training.
