    Infrared and Laser Engineering, 2008
    Co-Authors: Yang Fan
    Abstract:

Water-surface oil spill is one of the most popular pollution of water, in the process of radiant electromagnetic wave, it can produce infrared Polarization Characteristics which are related to the nature themselves. Therefore, detecting the infrared Polarization information of water-surface oil spill becomes a new method of water monitoring. Based on the analysis of infrared Polarization imaging mechanism, the Polarization Characteristics of water-surface oil spill in different temperature are studied. It is shown in the experiment that this method can detect water-surface oil spill by infrared Polarization Characteristics.

    Journal of Applied Sciences, 2009
    Co-Authors: Xiao Shun-ping
    Abstract:

Measurement of far-field of antenna is studied in this paper. The proposed method introduces a metallic ball and a dihedral calibrator as radar target for observation.A model is built for the signal received from the antenna that scans the target.A measurement equation for the antenna Polarization characteristic is derived.By processing and solving the echo-voltage samples, the Polarization Characteristics of the antenna are obtained. The analytical expression and practical procedure are presented.Validity of the method is shown by processing of the observation data and simulation. The method can greatly reduce the development complexity and production cost of the field test, and increase fidelity of the predicted far field.

    Co-Authors: Xiao Shun-ping
    Abstract:

The description framework of spacial Polarization Characteristics of antenna is introduced in this paper by interpreting the conception of antenna’s spacial Polarization especially for instantaneous Polarization detailedly. Some classical descriptors and instantaneous descriptors are given. The spacial Polarization Characteristics of theoretical orthogonal dipole antenna and a practical jammer antenna is analyzed. The influence to radar received Polarization loss caused by it’s spacial variety is discussed. Simulation results indicate that antenna’s Polarization Characteristics changes as different radiation direction, and results in the performance of radar, such as the received loss, anti-interference property and so on.

  • improvement in the Polarization Characteristics of a slit carbon plate the superposition of slit ferrite and copper plates over a slit carbon plate
IEEE Transactions on Applied Superconductivity, 2008
    Co-Authors: Tokoh Nishikubo, K Itoh, H Endo, M Itoh
    Abstract:

In order to improve the electromagnetic environment associated with the widespread use of electronic devices for communication, computation, automation, among other purposes, the present paper has developed a carbon plate that exhibits Polarization Characteristics. To achieve Polarization Characteristics in the far field, slits were cut into the surface of a carbon plate; termed the slit carbon plate. The value of the RF magnetic shielding degree SDHP when holding the slits of the carbon plate perpendicular to the ground, in the frequency region of 140 MHz to 700 MHz, increased with frequency, and displayed a value of 35 dB at 700 MHz. It was also shown that the value of SDHH, when aligning the slits horizontal to the ground, increased with frequency, and recorded a value of 5 dB at 700 MHz. Namely, the difference in the shielding degrees of the slit carbon plate for the orientation of the slits indicated Polarization Characteristics. In present research, the Polarization Characteristics of the slit carbon plate were improved, in the frequency region of 1 MHz to 800 MHz, by the superposition of slit ferrite and copper plates over the slit carbon plate; termed compound plate. For example, the difference between the values of SDHP and SDHH for the compound plate at 30 MHz was found to be improved by approximately 50 dB. In addition, important criteria are discussed for the design of a plate having Polarization Characteristics, for effective RF magnetic shielding.

  • Fabrication of RF Magnetic Shielding Plate Having the Polarization Characteristics
2007 IEEE Instrumentation & Measurement Technology Conference IMTC 2007, 2007
Co-Authors: Tokoh Nishikubo, Hiroshi Norikane, Fumio Tojo, K Itoh, H Endo, M Itoh
    Abstract:

As one of the basic areas of research for the improvement of the electromagnetic environment, the present paper has developed the carbon plate having the Polarization Characteristics. To exhibit the Polarization Characteristics in the far field region, it has formed the slit on the surface of carbon plate. The value of the RF magnetic shielding degree SDHH for holding the slit of a carbon plate horizontally, in the frequency region of 1 MHz to 1 GHz, increased with frequency, and had the value of 58 dB at 1 GHz. Also shown that the value of SDHP for holding the slit perpendicularly indicated about 10 dB in the frequency region of 1 MHz to 1 GHz. Namely, the difference of shielding degrees of the carbon plate to direction of slit is indicated the Polarization Characteristics. Experimental results revealed several Characteristics of the slitting carbon plate that include the influences of Polarization Characteristics on the slit length L and slit number N. In the present paper, it is improved the Polarization Characteristics by the superposition of slitting ferrite plate over a slitting carbon plate, termed a compound plate. In addition, important criteria are discussed for the design of an effective RF magnetic shielding plate having Polarization Characteristics.

  • Polarization Characteristics analysis of crossed dipoles
Chinese Journal of Radio Science, 2012
    Co-Authors: Wang Xue-song
    Abstract:

The spatial Polarization Characteristics of dual-polarized arrays and its influence on the Polarization scattering matrix measurement of target are analyzed in this paper by using crossed dipoles as elements.Because of the nonorthogonality of the radiated electric field at off-broadside,it is inevitable to cause cross-Polarization interference between crossed dipoles. The cross-Polarization Characteristics of crossed dipoles are analyzed according the traditional evaluation definition.Furthermore, the cross-Polarization isolation(XPI)of dual polarized radar system is defined in the respect of target Polarization scattering matrix measurement, which is denoted by the Polarization measurement formula and evaluate the stability of Polarization measurement methods.
