  • An Unusual Case of Penetrating Ocular Trauma with a Pressure Cooker Whistle
    Delhi Journal of Ophthalmology, 2014
    Co-Authors: Dobariya, Shastri M, Desai S, Savani M
    Abstract:

Dear Editor, Penetrating ocular trauma is leading cause of vision loss.1 Injury sustained at workplace among man is the commonest scenario of such blinding ocular trauma.2 Domestic ocular injuries are of no lesser magnitude but such cases are probably underreported.1,3 We present an unusual case of penetrating ocular trauma in a man with Pressure Cooker whistle while working in kitchen. This case highlights the propensity of grievous ocular trauma in a domestic environment. A 29-year-old man presented to our emergency with injury to his left eye due to Pressure Cooker burst. He was using a kerosene stove to cook and was sitting beside it keeping the Pressure Cooker below the level of his head. During that act, the whistle of the Pressure Cooker lid gave way and hit the left side of his face like a missile. Visual acuity in the emergency room was no light perception. With a pulse rate of 84/minute, blood Pressure 116/80 mm Hg and Glasgow coma scale of 14, he was hemodynamically stable. He was administered tetanus toxoid. Deep lacerations were noted in the left upper eye lid and temporal end of the eye brow. The metallic whistle was seen intruded in the whole orbit. Details of left eye were not seen as whole of it covered with whistle. X-ray shows intruded whistle in left orbit and no evidence of bony injury. The intruded whistle was removed in the emergency operation theatre under general anaesthesia. Examination of the eye on the operating

  • Electrical fails specific to Pressure Cooker Test
2004 IEEE International Reliability Physics Symposium. Proceedings, 1
    Co-Authors: Lovell Berry Wiggins, Charles H. Perry, J. T. Coffin, E. Dyll, M. Fausse, K. Masanori
    Abstract:

This paper emphasizes the need for thorough failure analysis and understanding of the failure mechanism to utilize the Pressure Cooker Test (PCT). The high relative humidity extracted bromide ions from the Flip Chip Plastic Ball Grid Array (FCPBGA), which catalyzed growth of unusual tin oxides and drove the extrusion of solder causing shorts.
