    Abstract:

    Software testing laboratory is a professional software evaluation organization of university or state institution. Through the analysis and study of the characteristics of software testing Process, we intend to customize a model of software testing Process Quality measurement which is applicable to the software testing laboratory. The model describes seven characteristics namely compliance of Process, stability of Process, effectiveness, adequacy, traceability, integrity and timeliness which are further subdivided into some measure indices and describes their assessment methods. Finally, an example is given to show how to evaluate the Quality of software testing Process.

An intelligent Process Quality control system model for mass customization, which integrates Quality prevention, analysis, diagnosis and running intelligent Quality control system. This model dealt mainly with constructing and running intelligent Quality control system, integrated several enabling technologies such as Process Quality analysis based on similarity Process, Process Quality diagnosis based on Elman and expert system of Process Quality adjustment.     Abstract:

    How to solve the problems of monitoring dynamic and variable Quality variation, diagnosing the abnormal variation and adjusting the Process Quality at the right moment, is a difficult problem that modern manufacturing enterprise faces challenges of Process Quality control. An intelligent decision support system for Process Quality control is presented, the corresponding decision support modules (such as data acquisition, data management, Process analysis, dynamic diagnosis, real-time adjustment, expert system and so on) are built based on the design idea of decision support system with multi-structure through the share of resource and information; and the functions of each module are designed and described, and the solutions of decision are proposed. So, the work of this paper provides a theoretical basis and technological insurance for the development of the intelligent decision support system for Process Quality control.

    Abstract:

    Requiring solid engineering disciplines and best practices rather than human talents for developing complex software systems results an increasing interest in software Processes. The Quality of software Processes has considerable influence over the success of an organization. Process Quality measurement addresses an essential and largely overlooked aspect of Processes. We performed a case study on the application of a Process Quality measurement method with the main objective of examining the extent of the support it offers for software Process improvement in practice. We discuss the challenges and lessons learned as well as the limitations of the measurement method applied.

  • The Application of a New Process Quality Measurement Model for Software Process Improvement Initiatives

    Abstract:

    Conventionally, Process analysis is performed by following the traces of Processes on the attributes of cost, time and product Quality. Although Process Quality is a significant aspect it is frequently ignored in Process analysis. In this paper, we present the results of the applications of the Process Quality Measurement Model (PQMM) and demonstrate the added value that can be acquired by analyzing the Process Quality for software organizations. The PQMM is a comprehensive and proactive Quality measurement model based on the ISO/IEC 9126 Software Product Quality Standard. The basis of the PQMM is the measurement of Process definitions. As Process definitions can be established before their execution, the PQMM can measure Processes before they are put into practice. The model was applied to three different software organizations as part of a software Process improvement initiative. The applications of the PQMM provided guidance for the analysis and explanation of the deficiencies or problems identified in the Processes. The PQMM was also applied to the improved versions of the Processes and facilitated a quantitative evaluation of the improvements accomplished in the Processes.

  • Application of Process Quality measurement frameworks for human resource management Processes

    Abstract:

    This paper discusses the application of 3 frameworks with different viewpoints and metrics that provide comprehensive coverage to measure Process Quality with the goal of practice and comparison. The first framework is Vanderfeesten's model adapted from software programs, the second is from Khlif's model adapted from object-oriented software and the third is from Guceglioglu's model adapted from ISO/IEC 9126 Software Product Quality Model. These frameworks are applied on a set of Processes that are defined as part of a Process improvement and automation study performed for a government agency. The set includes all of the Processes of a human resource management department for the agency. The results are compared in the terms of effort required to apply the frameworks, and the applicability and automation potential of the frameworks. We also provide our observations in relation to the difficulties we faced and validity of the results obtained with respect to the organization. {©} 2011 IEEE.

    Organizations frequently use product based organizational performance models to measure the effects of information system (IS) on their organizations. This paper introduces a complementary Process based approach that is founded on measuring business Process Quality attributes. These Quality attributes are defined on the basis of ISO/IEC 9126 Software Product Quality Model. The new Process Quality attributes are applied in an experiment and results are discussed in the paper.
