    Abstract:

    This study deals with the application of Synectics model to improve students’ speaking ability in senior high school. This reserach was conducted by applying Classroom Action Research with two cycles in six meetings. The subject of this study was a class in the second year students of SMA SWASTA NURUL HASANAH. There were 24 students that participated in this research. The The qualitative data were taken from the diary notes, interview sheet, observation sheet, and questionnaire sheet and the quantitative data was taken from the test result and done in a pre test and the two test. The result of of the quantitative data indicate that the score of  the students imroved from cycle I to cycle II with a pre-test mean of 45.20, the test of cycle I was 46.79  and the test of cycle II was 77.83. The result of based on the data above, it can be concluded that the application of Synectics model was significantly improved students’ speaking ability. Key words: Speaking, Synectics, test, data

    Abstract:

    Innovation is the key to survival. Domestic and international competitions, changing government regulations, and rapidly evolving global market conditions demand constant and visionary innovation. The aim of this paper is to explore ways of using advance electronic and communication technology to improve innovation in organizations. This paper proposes that two group creativity techniques, PMI and Synectics, should be implemented electronically in Group Support Systems to complement electronic brainstorming and support group idea generation. Not only are these two group creativity techniques well-developed and popular in the industry, their electronic counterparts have the added capability of transcending space and time constraints. A comparison of electronic brainstorming, PMI, Synectics, and their verbal counterparts is discussed in the paper.

    Abstract:

    Kreativitas adalah salah satu aspek penting dalam kehidupan baik bagi individu yang bersangkutan maupun bagi kehidupan sosial, karena itu pendidikan bertanggung jawab untuk mengembangkannya. Namun, proses pendidikan yang berlangsung saat ini kurang berpihak pada pengembangan kreativitas siswa, salah satu indikatornya adalah model pembelajaran yang digunakan guru cenderung monoton dan kurang menarik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memunculkan metode alterntaif dalam mengembangkan kreativitas dalam bentuk menulis kreatif. Jenis pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan eksperimental yang bertujuan untuk menguji Synectics dalam mengembangkan kemampuan menulis kreatif dengan menyertakan sikap kreatif sebagai variabel kovariat. Pelajaran yang digunakan sebagai sarana pemberian perlakuan adalah bahasa Indonesia yang dianggap cocok untuk mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif dan menulis kreatif dalam bentuk menulis karangan. Subjek penelitian diambil dari siswa kelas tujuh (VII) MTs Surya Buana Malang sebanyak 48 orang (24 untuk kelompok analogi dan 24 untuk kelompok pembanding). Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan tes menulis kreatif dan skala sikap kreatif. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan teknik analisis multivariate analysis of covariance. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan Synectics efektif dalam mengembangkan kemampuan menulis kreatif.

    Abstract:

    This research used experimental approach which aims to test effectiveness of Synectics in developing creative thinking using variables of creative attitude as covariance. The subjects were 48 students of seventh grade of MTs Surya Buana who was divided evenly into experiment and control group. The data was gained through a test of creative thinking and creative attitude scale. Results indicated that Synectics proved effective in developing creative thinking.
