A contribution to the knowledge of the Tenthredinidae (Symphyta, Hymenoptera) fauna of Turkey. Part I: The subfamily Tenthredininae.
Turkish Journal of Zoology, 2004Co-Authors: Önder Çalmaşur, Hikmet ÖzbekAbstract:The subfamily Tenthredininae in the family Tenthredinidae was treated in this part of the study regarding the sawfly (Symphyta, Hymenoptera) fauna of Turkey. The materials were collected from various localities around the country, though examples from eastern Turkey are predominant. After examining more than 2500 specimens, 57 species in 8 genera were recorded. Eleven species were new for Turkish fauna; of these 3 species were recorded for the first time as Asian fauna. Furthermore, 3 species were endemic for Turkey. The distribution and new areas as well as the host plants of some species around Turkey and the world were given. For each species its chorotype was reported.

Notes on four anemone-feeding insects in the Eastern United States (Diptera: Agromyzidae; Hymenoptera: Tenthredinidae; Lepidoptera: Noctuidae).
Proceedings of the Entomological Society of Washington, 2015Co-Authors: Charles S. Eiseman, Julia A. Blyth, David R. SmithAbstract:Abstract. Pseudodineura parva (Norton) (Hymenoptera: Tenthredinidae: Nematinae), Phytomyza multifidae Sehgal (Diptera: Agromyzidae), and Cerastis tenebrifera (Walker) (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) were reared from wood anemone (Ranunculaceae: Anemone quinquefolia L.), and Monophadnus aequalis MacGillivray (Hymenoptera: Tenthredinidae: Blennocampinae) from sharp-lobed hepatica (A. acutiloba (DC.) G. Lawson) for the first time. The rearing of P. multifidae represents a new U.S. record, and the sawfly records extend the known range of both species south to northwestern Alabama. Details of rearings of all four species are provided, along with descriptions of the sawfly larvae. Two parasitoids, Pnigalio flavipes (Ashmead) and P. pallipes (Provancher) (Eulophidae), were reared from Phytomyza multifidae.
