    Abstract:

    Abstract Mammary Tumors were induced in female Sprague-Dawley rats by a single feeding of 7,12-dimethylbenz(a)anthracene (DMBA). The rats (21/group) were fed 5 or 20% of soybean oil (SBO), palm oil (PO), or hydrogenated soybean oil (HS). Where needed the diet of the rats fed PO or HS was augmented with SBO to ensure adequate essential fatty acid content. At 5% fat, Tumor incidence was highest in SBO-fed rats. Tumor multiplicity, mean Tumor Weight and Tumor burden were all highest in rats fed HS and lowest in those fed PO. At 20% dietary fat, Tumor incidence was lowest in rats fed HS and similar in those fed SBO or PO. Tumor multiplicity, mean Tumor Weight and Tumor burden were lowest in rats fed PO and highest in rats fed SBO. Our data suggest that palm oil is less active in the promotion of chemically induced (DMBA) mammary Tumors in female rats than either soybean oil or hydrogenated soybean oil.

    Abstract:

    Objective To study the effects of betahistine on survival time in mice with hepatoma and turmor Weight in mice with sarcoma.Methods Hepatoma H_ 22 and sarcoma S_ 180 were transplanted to mice and the effects of betahistine were observed.Results The mice bearing H_ 22 were treated with 6.67mg/kg,13.33mg/kg or 26.67mg/kg betahistine for 7 days,the life prolongation rate was 5.48%,8.22% and 16.44%,respectively,which was positively correlated with the dosage. The survival time of 26.67mg/kg betahistine group was significantly increased compared with the control group(P0.05).The mice bearing S_ 180 were treated with 6.67mg/kg,13.33mg/kg or 26.67mg/kg Betahistine for 7 days and the Tumor Weight was decreased ,the inhibition rate was 6.83%,9.13% and 18.05%,respectively,which was positively correlated with the dosage. The turmor Weight of 26.67mg/kg betahistine group was significantly decreased compared with the control group(P0.05).Conclusion The results suggest that betahistine can prolong the survival time in mice with hepatoma H_(22) and inhibite Tumor-growth in mice with sarcoma S_(180). .

    Abstract:

    Here, we investigated the effect of jump exercise on Tumor growth, cancer cachexia, lymphocyte proliferation and macrophage function in Walker 256 Tumor-bearing rats. Male Wistar rats (60 days) were divided into sedentary (C) and exercised (E) groups. Jump training consisted of six sets of 10 jumps in water with overload of 50% of body mass with 1 min of resting, four times per week for 8 weeks. After 6 weeks of training, half of each group was inoculated with 2 × 10^7 cells of Walker 256 Tumor. Sedentary Tumor-bearing and exercised Tumor-bearing are referred to as T and TE, respectively. Tumor Weight in the T group was 25 g. These animals display loss of Weight, hypertriacylglycerolemia, hyperlacticidemia, depletion of glycogen stores and increase in PIF expression. Jump exercise (TE) induced a significant lower Tumor Weight, preserves liver glycogen stores, partly prevented the hypertriacylglycerolemia, hyperlacticidemia and, prevented the fall in body Weight and reduced PIF expression. Lymphocyte was increased by Tumor burden (T) and was higher by including exercise (TE). The same was observed regarding phagocytosis and lysosomal volume. Anaerobic exercise decreases Tumor growth, cancer cachexia and increases innate and adaptative immune function.
