The Architecture of an Integrated Support Tool for Software Product Certification Process
2011Co-Authors: Aziz Deraman, Jamaiah YahayaAbstract:Previous studies in software Certification provide a set of axiom and supporting models for software assessment and Certification. Two main researches were undertaken to study the issue of Certification and developed models of software Certification. These models have been developed using requirements-design-implementation strategy to ensure that it meets the needs of a number of different interest groups in the industry. The two models focused on certifying software by development Process and product quality approach. The models have been tested by case study, which were launched collaboratively with industries in Malaysia. We extend this works and develop a more comprehensive and integrated model of Certification. A significant advantage of the proposed integrated model is that it allows users to choose and design their own implementation or working model of Certification which fit with their organisation’s requirements and expectations. This paper focuses on software Certification by product quality approach and the architecture of the support tool that needed in the Certification Process.

The development of pragmatic quality model for software product Certification Process
2006 International Conference on Computing & Informatics, 2006Co-Authors: Jamaiah Yahaya, Aziz Deraman, Abdul Razak HamdanAbstract:The emergence of Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC) in Malaysia in 1996 was the starting point for the blooming of software and ICT related companies. Despite that, not much attention was given to the quality of the software product that was being developed by different categories of companies. These companies could not justify the quality of their products to the users and the users are left with uncertainties on the quality of the software. Our previous survey identified the need for independent software assessment and Certification. Therefore, we propose a conceptual model of software Certification Process by product quality approach. It is designed to be applied by an independent Certification body or any appointed institution. The main focus of this paper is the development of pragmatic quality model that will be applied in the Certification Process.

Chapter 6 – The Type Certification Process
Airworthiness, 2016Co-Authors: Filippo De FlorioAbstract:In this chapter we describe the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) type Certification Processes pointing out the substantial differences between them from an organisational point of view. Of course, the final result is the same: endorse the compliance of the type design to the applicable Certification basis by issuing a type certificate. We will quote a list of related and key advisory material, also depicting ideas on the construction of prototypes and test articles. Although the basic philosophical concepts of type Certification procedures are generally the same for the EASA, and FAA, there are some peculiarities in the type Certification Process that necessitate an individual description of the two Processes.

The Type Certification Process
Airworthiness, 2011Co-Authors: Filippo De FlorioAbstract:This chapter discusses the type Certification Process. The national authorities proposed some specialists for each Certification; these specialists were evaluated on the basis of their experience (a curriculum vitae was required), and then the JAA assessed and approved the composition of the team. A Program Manager, with the main task of coordinating the team's work, was appointed in a similar way. JAA local procedure type Certification of products of the “lower” range, such as very light aeroplanes, sailplanes, and powered sailplanes, some JAR 23 single-engine aeroplanes, and so on. Type Certification of this kind of product involved, in general, a smaller team and less-complex management. Therefore, the Certification Process was assigned to a national authority (possibly to the applicant's national authority), which had to be acknowledged by the JAA as the Primary Certification Authority (PCA).

Support Mechanisms as Influences of Success in the Certification Process of the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards
2005Co-Authors: Emily B. HundleyAbstract:________________________________________________________________________ SUPPORT MECHANISMS AS INFLUENCES OF SUCCESS IN THE Certification Process OF THE NATIONAL BOARD FOR PROFESSIONAL TEACHING STANDARDS This study examined the types of support received by National Board Certified Teachers, the importance of the support, and the relationship between receipt of support and achievement of Certification by the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards. Qualitative and quantitative methods of gathering data were used during this study. Six National Board Certified Teachers were interviewed by telephone and emergent category analysis was performed on these data to determine the types of support these teachers received. The results were used to create the survey for this study which was sent to a random sample of teachers who had completed the National Board Certification Process. This survey asked respondents to rank the importance of each support mechanism, whether they received the given type of support, whether they achieved Certification, and respondents were asked to give demographic information. Each of the support mechanisms was perceived to be important by the respondents. Significance was found between achievement of Certification and reading for content and collegial support. No significance was found for receipt of mentoring, financial support, proofreading, time release, family support, use of technology, time line, logistical information, and workshops. Ancillary findings included significance among types of support based on sex, race, years of experience, type of school district, and percentage of free and reduced lunch eligible students.

Quality aspects for medical devices, quality system and Certification Process
Microchemical Journal, 2018Co-Authors: Fabio GeremiaAbstract:Abstract Medical Devices (MDs) are nowadays every time more and more important in the healthcare industry and the related Processes for worldwide regulation and Certification are a topic of great interest. In particular, the need for regulation harmonization between European Countries (European Regulation), as well as worldwide, is very important both for Regulatory Authorities and for the industry world. This article covers a typical Process for an MD development and industrialization phase, providing some case studies and taking into consideration all steps from design up to start-up of the production phase and Process validation. All these activities are necessary for the product Certification Process. The discussion emphasizes the aspects related to the Quality System, Production, Validation and Quality Control, proposing an integrated approach, which combines the GMP and ISO requirements (e.g., ISO 13485 and ISO 14971), following a Quality Risk Management (ICH Q9) and, where applicable, an integrated Pharmaceutical Quality System (ICH Q10) structure.

my old kentucky home goodnight potential impact of planned changes in the radiology board Certification Process
American Journal of Roentgenology, 2008Co-Authors: David B Larson, Daniel D SaketAbstract:1149 more advanced subspecialty questions. Although the content of the examinations will become more specialty-specific, the Board still plans to certify graduates broadly as diagnostic radiologists. The Board is currently not planning to publish the specific makeup of each individual’s tailored examination. This policy brief examines how these changes—specifically those of (1) content and (2) timing of the oral board examination— may impact the major radiology stakeholders in the Certification Process: training programs, academic centers, private groups, and individual radiologists.
