agrobacterium arsenijevicii sp nov isolated from crown gall tumors on raspberry and Cherry Plum
Systematic and Applied Microbiology, 2015Co-Authors: Nemanja Kuzmanovic, J Pulawska, Anđelka Prokic, Milan Ivanovic, Nevena Zlatkovic, J B Jones, Aleksa ObradovicAbstract:Abstract Two plant-tumorigenic strains KFB 330 T and KFB 335 isolated from galls on raspberry ( Rubus idaeus ) in Serbia, and a non-pathogenic strain AL51.1 recovered from a Cherry Plum ( Prunus cerasifera ) tumor in Poland, were genotypically and phenotypically characterized. Phylogenetic reconstruction based on 16S rDNA placed them within the genus Agrobacterium , with A. nepotum as their closest relative. Multilocus sequence analysis (MLSA) based on the partial sequences of atpD , glnA , gyrB , recA and rpoB housekeeping genes suggested that these three strains represent a new Agrobacterium species, that clustered with type strains of A. nepotum , A. radiobacter , “ A. fabrum ” and A. pusense . This was further supported by average nucleotide identity values ( T and related Agrobacterium species. The major cellular fatty acids of the novel strains were 18:1 w7c (72.8–77.87%) and 16:0 (6.82–8.58%). Phenotypic features allowed their differentiation from closely related species. Polyphasic characterization showed that the three strains represent a novel species of the genus Agrobacterium , for which the name Agrobacterium arsenijevicii sp. nov. is proposed. The type strain of A. arsenijevicii is KFB 330 T (=CFBP 8308 T = LMG 28674 T ).

rhizobium skierniewicense sp nov isolated from tumours on chrysanthemum and Cherry Plum
International Journal of Systematic and Evolutionary Microbiology, 2012Co-Authors: J Pulawska, Anne Willems, P SobiczewskiAbstract:Three isolates of Gram-negative, rod-shaped, non-spore-forming bacteria were recovered from galls on chrysanthemum (Chrysanthemum L.; Ch11T, Ch12) and Cherry Plum (Prunus cerasifera var. divaricata; AL9.3). All three isolates were able to cause crown galls on various plant species. Phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA gene sequences indicated that the three isolates were probably identical (100% sequence similarity) and closely related to Rhizobium rubi (99.6 %), Rhizobium radiobacter (98.7 %) and Rhizobium larrymoorei (98.1 %). Similar analysis based on the housekeeping genes glnA, gyrB and rpoB also indicated that the novel isolates were identical and closely related to R. rubi . The major cellular fatty acids of strain Ch11T were C18 : 1ω7c (62.1 %), summed feature 2 (comprising C12 : 0 aldehyde, iso-C16 : 1 I and/or C14 : 0 3-OH; 10.8 %), summed feature 3 (comprising C16 : 1ω7c and/or iso-C15 : 0 2-OH; 7.7 %) and C10 : 0 3-OH (7.5 %). However, the DNA–DNA relatedness between Ch11T and R. rubi LMG 156T was only 48 % and, unlike phylogenetically related established Rhizobium species, the novel isolates were able to utilize β-hydroxybutyric acid but not l-fucose. Based on the phylogenetic and phenotypic evidence, the isolates are considered to represent a single novel species of the genus Rhizobium , for which the name Rhizobium skierniewicense sp. nov. is proposed; the type strain is Ch11T ( = LMG 26191T = CFBP 7420T).

Pressure- and Temperature-Dependent Density Change of Juices During Concentration

Azizov, I M AbdulagatovAbstract:Density of seven fruit juices (melon, Plum, peach, black currants, Cherry-Plum, pear, and tangerine) have been measured at temperatures from 283 to 403 K and at pressures from 0.1 to 10 MPa for the concentrations of soluble solids from 10.7 to 70°Brix. Measurements were made with a hydrostatic weighing technique. The uncertainty of the density measurements was estimated to be less than 0.075%. The effect of temperature, pressure, and concentration on the fruit juice density was studied. The applicability and predictive capability of the various models for the density of fruit juices were studied. Various polynomials, power, exponential, logarithmic, and their combinations correlation models were used to represent the combined effect of temperature and concentration on the density. Models which represent the density of juice relative to pure water density were considered.

Measurements were made, temperature range 20 to 120 °C, at concentrations between 12.2 and 50 °Brix. The uncertainty of the thermal conductivity measurements was estimated to be less than 2%. A semitheoretical method for the prediction of thermal conductivity of juices was proposed. It was found that the prediction Model IV, λ (T, x)/λ (T0, x) = (T/T0)n, where λ is the thermal conductivity, x is the concentration, and T is the temperature, developed in this work can be adopted with satisfaction. The thermal conductivity of juices can be predicted just by knowing the thermal conductivity λ0 at a reference temperature T0.

Study on Resistance to Coldness of Prunus divaricata
Journal of Xinjiang Agricultural University, 2020Co-Authors: Zhou LongAbstract:In order to know the resistance to coldness of dormant shoots from Prunus divaricata Xinjiang wild Cherry Plum,it has been determined by means of electrical conductivity combined with the changes of MDA content.Five temperature gradient treatment from-20 ℃ to-40 ℃ were designed,which were used as controls,compared with the temperation in outside.The results indicated: the majority of Prunus americana can be resistant to the low-temperature below(-25 ℃) and few of them can be resistant to the low-temperature below-30 ℃.The order of the resistance to coldness of these Plum specieses are: Beifang1Suili3Niuxin PlumPrunus divaricata respectively;Among Prunus divaricata,living condition is different and genotype is different,resistance to coldness is different too.

During a survey for the presence of Hop stunt viroid (HSVd) on stone fruit trees in Greece, samples from 30 European Plums (Prunus domestica L., cvs. President, Tuleu Grass), 45 Japanese Plums (Prunus salicina Lindl., cvs. Angeleno, Diamond, Santa Rosa), 12 Cherry Plums (Prunus domestica L. var. insititia (L.) Fiori & Paoletti of unknown cultivar), and 107 peaches (Prunus persica (L.) Batsch, cvs. Red Haven, Elberta, June Gold, Spring Crest, Lemonato) were collected in several orchards around Greece. Their fruit skin symptomatology indicated viroid infection (reddish dappling blotches and cracks in European and Japanese Plum, green dappling in Cherry Plum, and light colored blotches and lines in peach).
