Blockchain-Enabled Security in Electric Vehicles Cloud and Edge Computing

It will be a trend along with EVs becoming popular in V2X. The EVs act as potential resource infrastructures referring to both information and energy interactions, and there are serious security challenges for such hybrid cloud and edge computing. Context-aware vehicular applications are identified according to the perspectives of information and energy interactions. Blockchain-inspired data coins and energy coins are proposed based on distributed consensus, in which data contribution frequency and energy contribution amount are applied to achieve the proof of work. Security solutions are presented for securing vehicular interactions in EVCE computing.

To further reduce the latency and the transmission cost of the computation off-loading, we propose a cloud-based mobileedge computing (MEC) off-loading framework in vehicular Networks. In this framework, we study the effectiveness of the computation transfer strategies with vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) and vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) communication modes. Considering the time consumption of the computation task execution and the mobility of the vehicles, we present an efficient predictive combination-mode relegation scheme, where the tasks are adaptively off-loaded to the MEC servers through direct uploading or predictive relay transmissions. Illustrative results indicate that our proposed scheme greatly reduces the cost of computation and improves task transmission efficiency.

Next, we analyze this research, developing a set of dimensions along which Network studies vary, including direction of causality, levels of analysis, explanatory goals, and explanatory mechanisms. We use the latter two dimensions to construct a 2-by-2 table cross-classifying studies of Network consequences into four canonical types: structural social capital, social access to resources, contagion, and environmental shaping. We note the rise in popularity of studies with a greater sense of agency than was traditional in Network research.

Urban Dynamics and Growth: Advances in Urban Economics, 2005Co-Authors: Roberto Camagni, Roberta CapelloAbstract:Abstract Real city systems in advanced countries have significantly departed from the abstract Christallerian pattern of a nested hierarchy of centers and markets. The reduction in transport costs and the demand for ‘variety’ by the consumer have broken the theoretical hypothesis of separated, gravity-type, non-overlapping market areas. ‘Location economies’ as described by Hoover, and synergy elements operating through horizontal and vertical linkages among firms, have led to the emergence of specialized centers, in contrast to the typical despecialisation pattern deriving from the theoretical model. High-order functions sometimes locate in small (but specialized) centers where the model expectations are only for lower-order functions. In recent years, Network behaviour has extensively been analysed as the emerging model for economic growth. By Network behaviour, a metaphor for cooperative behaviour among individuals, corporate or territorial partners is intended - which is increasingly becoming the reference Paradigm in an era of continuing innovation and fast technological change, in the presence of “market failure” when dynamic and innovative behaviours are concerned and of the high costs of a growth strategy based on the sole internal know-how. The chapter provides insights into the economic rational of this behaviour, by approaching the issue treating cities and territories both as individuals and as collective actors. Moreover, the chapter provides empirical evidence on the existence of “city Networks” and on the advantages cities gain from being part of a Network.

Piercy, Shannon H ShippAbstract:Turbulence and rapid change in the business environment have been associated for some time with the development of new Network organizational forms which put various types of strategic alliance and other inter-organizational collaborations into effect. This paper traces the rationale for the formation of such Networks and the associated vertical disaggregation of functions and implications for internal organizational design. This leads to the proposal of a classification framework for Network forms. Using the dimensions of volatility of environmental change on the one hand, and the type of inter-organizational relationship involved (collaborative or transactional) on the other hand, Network forms are classified as: hollow Networks, flexible Networks, value-added Networks and virtual Networks. In each case it is possible to identify the environmental and organizational contingencies most likely to be associated with the emergence and adoption of a particular type of Network arrangement. This argument leads to the identification of a new research agenda which has the goals of developing more robust conceptualizations of Network characteristics; better understanding the contingencies surrounding the emergence of Network forms and their relative efficiencies and specifying some of the major implications of Network formation for internal organizational design. In parallel the paper identifies a number of managerial implications for setting strategic priorities and developing appropriate management systems in these new organizational contexts.
