Diversity of Moss Plants at Bueng Peucari Waterfall in Jantho City, Aceh Besar District as a Reference for Low Plant Botany Practicum
2018Co-Authors: Cut RaihanAbstract:Diversity is a combination of the number of species and the number of individuals in each community. Moss is a Plant that is classified as a low level because the roots, stems and leaves cannot be distinguished yet. Moss has often been discussed, but references to Moss are few in number, so further research is needed on moss to increase moss biodiversity. The purpose of this research is to; find out the types of moss Plants found at Bueng Jantho Peucari Waterfall; find out the level of diversity of mosses in Bueng Jantho Peucari Waterfall; and to find out the usefulness of the results of research on moss diversity in Bueng Jantho Peucari Waterfall as a reference for Low Plant Botany course practice. The research design used to obtain field data, namely by using tracked roaming methods. Sampling method used was purposive sampling and was done at Bueng Jantho Peucari Waterfall. The research location was divided into 3 observation zones and each observation point consisted of 1 Line Transect and each Line Transect placed 5 plots measuring 5m x 5m. The results of the study revealed that t$$$here were 15 species of moss Plant consisting of 9 families. The diversity of moss Plants at Bueng Jantho Peucari Waterfall is classified as medium with a diversity index Ĥ = 1.94693. The conclusions of this study are: 1) Types of Moss Plant found in Bueng Jantho Peucari Waterfall consists of 15 species from 9 families, namely Marchantiaceae, Pottiaceae, Fissidentaceae, Hypnaceae, Catagoniaceae, Bartamiaceae, Brachytheciaceae, Calymperaceae, and Plagiochilaceae; 2) Diversity of Moss Plant Species found in Bueng Jantho Peucari Waterfall is classified as medium; 3) The results of this study are used in the form of a pocket book and herbarium. THE DEVELOPMENT OF BRYOPHYTA TEACHING BOOK FOR INCREASING THE STUDENTS’ UNDERSTANDING OF THE CONCEPT

In fact, mastery of concepts based on the results of prior research at various levels of education is still relatively low. The results of observations on the subject of Low Plant Botany at the Biology Education Department FKIP Universitas Sulawesi Barat also showed that students' conceptual understanding was still low. This problem certainly requires a solution such as the implementation of a Low Plant Botany textbook that has been developed by the research team. The purpose of this study was to find out the stages of developing teaching materials based on the results of research in the first year of research, knowing the results of validation test by design experts, material experts, results of individual trials, trial results of readability of teaching materials, and to determine the effectiveness of development results textbooks for understanding student concepts. The method of developing teaching books in this study using the ADDIE Model which according to Branch (2009) consists of 5 stages, namely analysis (analysis), design (design), development (development), implementation (product implementation/ testing), and evaluation (evaluation). The results of this development study revealed that: (1) developed textbooks fulfilled valid criteria by the validators so that it was feasible to be implemented into the learning process, and (2) textbooks that had been developed by the research team proved effective in improving understanding the concepts of students. Student's naturalist intelligence in studying high Plant botanicals by inquiry model

The principle of learning of Plant Botany in higher education was the application of the process of observing, measuring, testing, estimating, analyzing, comparing, classifying, experimenting and making conclusions by applying the principle of learning by doing. Therefore naturalist intelligence was very necessary. This study aims to determine the naturalist intelligence of students in the High Plant Botany course. This study uses a quantitative descriptive approach with the Action Research model Inquiry method. The study was conducted on 40 students of high Plant Botany Biology Education Subjects PMIPA Department FKIP Lambung Mangkurat University with 12 practicums as many times as measurements (1st practicum Cycadopsida Class, 6 Class Magnoliopsida practicum and 12 Liliopsida Class labs). The character of naturalist intelligence was measured using student worksheets which include; 1) Sensitivity to Plants, 2) Expertise in differentiating members of Plant species, 3) Ability to recognize the existence of Plant species, and 4) Ability to map relationships between several Plant species. Data were analyzed descriptively. The results of the study showed that there was a tendency to decrease the value of students' naturalist intelligence in high Plant Botany courses from repeated observations made. Based on the categories in a row with a high category (grades 75.6-90.5) as many as 21.3% of students, medium category (grades 60.6-75.5) as many as 76.6% students, and low categories (grades 40, 6-60.5) as many as 3.1% of students.
