Cost estimates are used to evaluate, approve and/or fund projects. Organizations use some form of classification system to identify the various types of estimates that may be prepared during the lifecycle of a project. This research presents a parametric-cost model for Pump Station projects. Fourteen factors have been identified as important to the influence of the cost of Pump Station projects. A data set that consists of forty-four Pump Station projects (fifteen water and twenty-nine waste water) are collected to build a Case-Based Reasoning (CBR) library and to test its performance. The results obtained from the CBR tool are processed and adopted to improve the accuracy of the results. A numerical example is presented to demonstrate the development of the effectiveness of the tool.

Discussion on Utilization of Residual Pressure in Secondary Pressure Pump Station
Construction Conserves Energy, 2007Co-Authors: Yao HongAbstract:System structure and operating principle of a new-style secondary pressure water supply device were introduced.Through analyzing five different working states of the device,the result shows that flow rate of inlet and outlet and the inlet pressure are the key factors of impacting energy saving.Comparing with general water supply system and direct pressure-add water supply technology,this new-style secondary pressure water supply device has wider prospect of application.Moreover,some problems should be noticed in application of this new device.

2003Co-Authors: Yao HongAbstract:The utilization of the residual pressure at a booster Pumping Station can save energy by 10 to 40 percent on the basis of the frequency-change Pump working,and save bulk of feeding reservoir by about 50 percent,and reduce initial stages investment.The efficiency formula of the utilization of the networks residual pressure at a booster Pump Station was summarized,which provided the theoretic foundation for advanced study on the utilization of the residual pressure in a booster Pumping Station.
