Based on the status that the database does not have the intelligent features,the model of personalized search engine and the implementation of key technologies was studied.Constructed based on data mining for online teaching personalized information inquiry system and given the system's implementation modalities.Simulation results show that this study on building personalized teaching Resource Library system can meet the individual needs of learners better.

Computer Engineering, 2007Co-Authors: Zhong Luo, Wang Hui, L I Ruitao, Song HuazhuAbstract:The semantic Web technology is introduced in the E-learning to construct a learning Resource ontology based on semantic Web architecture and realizes further management of the learning Resources in E-learning system.After analyzing the functions and scope of Web-based education Resource Library and the methods of ontology modeling,upper ontology is illustrated which includes the Resource Library ontology and the users' ontology.And the class diagram is shown.Corresponding OWL description of ontology is implemented with Protege3.1.The evaluation of ontology is given,and an inference instance proves its validity.

The project used a range of methodologies to reorganise the OLT’s Resource Library (http://www.olt.gov.au/Resource-Library), constructing and selecting an optimal set of metadata elements, along with certain vocabularies for these elements, and then reindexing the content of the Resource Library utilising the new schema and vocabularies. This paper reports on a before-and-after evaluation of the Resource Library’s search performance through an information retrieval experiment based on searches logged by the repository’s content management system. It was found that the reindexing produced a significant increase in average recall from 25.1 to 37.1% and a significant increase in average precision from 37.6 to 50.4%. In order to apply the recommendations and Resources emanating from these projects, it is vital that educators and other stakeholders are aware of, and effectively able to use, the Resource Library. Based on anecdotal evidence indicating a lack of awareness of the Resource Library and problems with consistently being able to search for and retrieve relevant Resources from the database, the OLT commissioned a project to formally evaluate the Library and redesign it to improve access and usability. This paper reports on the project's progress, including the results from a questionnaire completed by 117 higher education stakeholders.

Although these Resources are freely available on its website, the OLT considers them underutilised. Hence it has commissioned a project to reorganise the collection using more accurate and consistent metadata. This paper presents the results of the initial phase of the project, in which a new metadata schema for the OLT's repository was developed through a systematic analysis of the collection, users' and prospective users' search needs, and the domain of HE learning and teaching.
