ANALYSIS ON Death CAUSES OF REPRODUCTIVE WOMEN IN JINSHAN DISTRICT FROM 1996 TO 2007
Modern Preventive Medicine, 2010Co-Authors: Zhu XiaoyunAbstract:[Objective] To explore the main Death causes of reproductive women in Jnshan district and provide scientific evidence for preventive policies.[Methods] Death data of reproductive women were collected from annual Death report of Jinshan residents,and the crude Death Rate,age-Specific Death Rate,cause-Specific Death Rate and proportional mortality Rate were calculated,etc.[Results] The crude Death Rate of reproductive women was 84.58 /100 000 in Jinshan district from 1996 to 2007.The top five causes of Death were tumor,external causes of injury and poisoning,diseases of the circulatory system,diseases of the genitourinary system and diseases of the respiratory system.The cause-Specific Death Rate arranged from 3.44 /100 000 to 31.26 /100 000.The rank of Death causes of reproductive women wasn't absolutely same in different years,but the first three causes were always tumor,external causes of injury and poisoning and diseases of the circulatory system.The first two causes were external causes of injury and poisoning and tumor in 15-39 year-old women and they were tumor and external causes of injury and poisoning in 40-49 year-old women.The top three Death causes of tumor were malignant tumors of liver,lung and stomach.The top three external causes of injury and poisoning were traffic accidents,suicide and homicide in the reproductive women in Jinshan district.[Conclusion] It is important to make special health policies for the reproductive women according to their Death causes in Jinshan district.

Enhancement of antibody production by growth factor addition in perfusion and hollow-fiber culture systems.

Transferrin enhanced cell growth but had no significant effect on the Specific antibody production Rate, whereas BSA significantly enhanced antibody production. The antibody production Rate was increased 4- and 14-fold respectively by feeding BSA at 2 and 5 g L(-1) into the EC side of the system (the side connected to the cell-containing outer part of the hollow-fiber unit) compared with the production achieved without BSA. Addition of 5 g L(1) BSA into the IC side of the system (the side connected to the inner part of the hollow-fiber unit) resulted in a 2.5-fold increase in the antibody production Rate. The effect of BSA was also analyzed using the perfusion culture system with a separation unit. When fresh medium containing either 2 or 5 g L(-1) BSA was fed into the reactor, both the Specific growth Rate and Specific Death Rate increased, while the Specific antibody production Rate was increased 2- and 25-fold, respectively, by feeding BSA at these two concentrations compared with no addition. Comparing the two systems, the increase in the antibody production Rate achieved with the hollow-fiber system was threefold greater than that in the perfusion culture system with the same concentration of BSA feeding. Effects of lactate concentration on hybridoma culture in lactate-controlled fed-batch operation.

When the pH was initially adjusted by sodium hydroxide, the Specific growth Rate decreased and Specific Death Rate increased with an increase of lactate concentration. To investigate whether the inhibition was due to the lactate concentration itself or to the osmotic pressure, the effect of the osmotic pressure adjusted by sodium chloride was compared with that of sodium lactate. When the osmotic pressure was adjusted to same condition as that of sodium lactate using sodium chloride, the Specific growth data showed the same degree of growth inhibition. It was thus evident that the inhibition to cell growth was mainly due to osmotic pressure while lactate production from glucose was found to be inhibited by the lactate itself compared with sodium chloride. The Specific antibody production Rate had a maximum value within a certain range of lactate concentration. Moreover, Specific antibody production Rate had a unified relationship with the kinetic parameter mu, in spite of the different causes of inhibition by lithium lactate and sodium lactate. A certain "trade-off" relationship between growth and antibody production existed at higher growth Rates.

Efficacy of intra-arterial chemotherapy combined with intravesical chemotherapy in T1G3 bladder cancer when compared with intravesical chemotherapy alone after bladder-sparing surgery: a retrospective study.

Our study retrospectively reviewed 200 patients with T1G3 BCa who had all undergone TURBT. The patients’ medical records were divided into two groups, one group only had IVC with pirarubicin after surgery, and the other group had IAC (cisplatin and epirubicin) combined with IVC after surgery. The patients were monitored regularly by urine cytology and cystoscopy. Survival and recurrence curves were calculated using the Kaplan–Meier method. Tumor recurrence, progression and tumor-Specific Death Rate were compared with Chi-square test. A multivariate analysis was carried out to find out potential confounders. A total of 200 medical record was analyzed, 131 patients received IVC, 69 IAC + IVC treatment, tumor-Specific Death Rate between the combined IAC and IVC compared to IVC alone was 7.25 and 17.6%, respectively (p
