Chemical Communications, 2008Co-Authors: Albrecht Metzger, Fabian M Piller, Paul KnochelAbstract:Benzylic Zinc Chlorides bearing various functional groups are smoothly prepared by the direct insertion of magnesium into benzylic Chlorides in the presence of LiCl and ZnCl2.
-
licl mediated preparation of highly functionalized benzylic Zinc Chlorides
Organic Letters, 2008Co-Authors: Albrecht Metzger, Matthias A Schade, Paul KnochelAbstract:In the presence of Zinc dust (1.5−2.0 equiv) and LiCl (1.5−2.0 equiv), various benzylic Chlorides bearing functional groups (iodide, cyanide, ester, ketone) are smoothly converted at 25 °C to the corresponding Zinc reagents without homo-coupling (<5%). The utility of these benzylic Zinc reagents is demonstrated by a short synthesis of papaverine.

chloride ion oxidation in molten alkaline earth metal magnesium and Zinc Chlorides
Russian Journal of Inorganic Chemistry, 2012Co-Authors: Yu. S. Chekryshkin, A. A. Fedorov, A. N. Chudinov, T. A. RozdyalovskayaAbstract:The interaction of molten alkaline-earth metal, magnesium, and Zinc Chlorides with oxygen has been investigated. The products of these reactions are molecular chlorine and the respective metal oxides. The reactivity of the Chlorides increases linearly with an increasing polarizing power of the cation or with an increasing effective polarizing power of the mixture of cations. The magnesium oxide and magnesium oxide-Zinc oxide powders resulting from the oxidation of the respective Chlorides have been analyzed.

the oxidation of Zinc and barium Chlorides with oxygen to obtain chlorine and finely dispersed Zinc oxide
Russian Journal of Applied Chemistry, 2010Co-Authors: Yu. S. Chekryshkin, T. A. Rozdyalovskaya, A. N. Chudinov, A. A. FedorovAbstract:The regular features of the reaction of calcium, barium, and Zinc Chlorides with oxygen to form molecular chlorine and corresponding metal oxides are studied. The rate constants of the reaction were determined. The effective activation energies of oxidation of chloride ions were calculated with due to regard for the diffusion at the gas-chloride melt interface, which is especially pronounced at a temperature above 550°C. Zinc oxide being formed was separated from the reaction mixture, and the dispersion of its particles was determined.

The regular features of chlorine formation in the systems NaCl-Me_ x O_ y -O_2 and Ca(Zn)Cl_2-Me_ x O_ y -O_2
Russian Journal of Applied Chemistry, 2009Co-Authors: T. A. Rozdyalovskaya, A. N. Chudinov, Yu. S. Chekryshkin, A. A. FedorovAbstract:The reaction of sodium, calcium, and Zinc Chlorides with atmospheric oxygen in the presence of transition metal oxides and antimony oxide at temperatures exceeding the melting temperatures of Chlorides was studied. The content of chorine, product of oxidation of chloride ions in molten NaCl and CaCl_2, was determined as a function of the polarization force of cations of transition metal oxides.

metal exchange reaction of magnesium octaphenyltetraazaporphyrin with copper cobalt and Zinc Chlorides in dmso and dmf
Russian Journal of General Chemistry, 2014Co-Authors: S V Zvezdina, N V Chizhova, Zh N MamardashviliAbstract:Metal exchange reaction of (octaphenyltetraazaporphyrinato)magnesium(II) with copper, cobalt, and Zinc Chlorides in dimethyl sulfoxide and dimethylformamide has been studied by spectrophotometry. Kinetic and thermodynamic parameters of the process have been determined, and a probable reaction mechanism has been proposed. Zinc(II), copper(II), cobalt(II), and cobalt(III) complexes of octaphenyltetraazaporphyrin have been isolated and characterized.

kinetics of the metal ligand exchange of cadmium rhodo and pyrroporphyrins with cobalt and Zinc Chlorides in organic solvents
Russian Journal of Inorganic Chemistry, 2013Co-Authors: B D Berezin, S V Zvezdina, M B BerezinAbstract:Experimental data on electron absorption spectra (EASs) and the kinetics of substitution of Co2+ for the central Cd2+ ion in rhodoporphyrin complexes (CdRodP) in the reaction with CoCl2 in acetonitrile (AN) and ZnCl2 in dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) and the substitution of Zn2+ for Cd2+ in pyrroporphyrin complexes (CdPyrP) in the reaction with ZnCl2 in DMSO are reported and discussed. The evolution of EASs in the reaction of metal-ligand exchange and the effective and true rate constants of the exchange reaction are reported. The activation energies and activation entropies are estimated.

metal exchange reactions between cadmium protoporphyrin and cobalt and Zinc Chlorides in acetonitrile and dimethyl sulfoxide
Russian Journal of Inorganic Chemistry, 2006Co-Authors: S V Zvezdina, M B Berezin, B D BerezinAbstract:Metal exchange between cadmium protoporphyrin CdPP and Zinc and cobalt Chlorides in dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) and acetonitrile (AN) was studied by spectrophotometry. Comparative analysis of the data on metal exchange between CdPP and ZnCl2 in DMSO and between CdPP and CoCl2 in AN was performed. The possible exchange mechanisms were considered. The results were compared with the data on cadmium mesoporphyrin exchange with Zinc and cobalt.
