Se realizaron muestreos por un periodo de 12 meses, durante los años 2015 y 2016, en las localidades de Huancaya, Yauyos, Catahuasi, Lunahuaná y San Vicente de cañete, ubicadas a lo largo de la cuenca del río Cañete, siguiendo un gradiente altitudinal de 3600, 2800, 1200, 550 y 40 m s.n.m, respectivamente. Los resultados permitieron identificar un total de 21 especies de Coccinellidae. Se determinó que la mayor riqueza específica, se presentó entre 1200 y 2800 m s.n.m., mientras que la menor riqueza específica y la menor abundancia se presentaron a 3600 m s.n.m. La especie más abundante fue Scymnus rubicundus Erichson, 1847, que representó el 34% de la comunidad de Coccinellidae. La especie Hippodamia convergens Guerin-Meneville, 1842 fue la que presentó la mayor distribución altitudinal, registrándose a lo largo de toda la cuenca. Mediante el dendrograma de similaridad de Bray-Curtis, se determinó que las localidades de San Vicente de Cañete, Lunahuaná y Catahuasi fueron los hábitats más similares en composición de especies. También se determinó que a partir de 2800 m s.n.m., la fauna de Coccinellidae es diferente a la que se presenta a menores altitudes.The family Coccinellidae, contains a large number of species of predators for a wide variety of agricultural pests, and an important part of the trophic chain. Muchas especies de Coccinellidae, tanto en su estado larval como adulto, son consideradas eficaces controladores biológicos de una gran variedad de plagas agrícolas. Es por ello, que el conocimiento de la fauna de Coccinellidae en áreas agrícolas, es importante para realizar programas de manejo integrado de plagas, enfocados principalmente en control biológico. Para el presente trabajo, se revisó material perteneciente a colectas realizadas durante los años 2009 y 2010, utilizando trampas Malaise, en 4 localidades ubicadas en la cuenca del río Cañete, siguiendo un gradiente altitudinal. Las localidades muestreadas fueron La Encañada, San Jerónimo, Pacarán y Zuñiga ubicadas a 200, 400, 600 y 800 m s.n.m., respectivamente. El objetivo del trabajo, fue determinar la diversidad de especies de la familia Coccinellidae y su distribución en el gradiente altitudinal estudiado. Se revisaron, un total de 1221 individuos adultos, pertenecientes a las subfamilias Sticholotidinae, Coccidulinae, Ortaliinae, Scymninae y Coccinellinae. Se identificaron un total de 20 especies: Coccidophilus occidentalis González, 2012, Coccidophilus lozadai González, 2012, Mimoscymnus praeclarus Gordon, 2002, Rhizobius lophanthae Blaisdell, 1892, Rodolia cardinalis Mulsant, 1850, Stethorus sp., Scymnus loewii Mulsant, 1850, Scymnus rubicundus Erichson, 1847, Scymnobius galapagoensis Waterhouse, 1845, Nephaspis isabelae González, 2009, Diomus sp., Zilus sp.1 1, Hyperaspis arida Gordon & Canepari, 2008, Cyrea sp.1, Psyllobora confluens Fabricius, 1801, Cycloneda sanguinea Linnaeus, 1763, Paraneda pallidula guticollis Mulsant, 1850, Harmonia axyridis Pallas, 1772, Hippodamia convergens Guerin-Meneville, 1842 y Neda 10 ostrina Erichson, 1847. De estas especies, se registra por primera vez a M. praeclarus en Perú. La mayor riqueza específica, se presentó a los 600 m s.n.m. (S=15), mientras que la menor riqueza específica se presentó a los 400 m s.n.m (S=9) por lo que no se estableció una relación entre la riqueza específica y la altitud. La mayor abundancia se presentó a los 400 m s.n.m. Las especies S. rubicundus y C. sanguinea fueron las más abundantes, representando el 71% y 11% del total de individuos, respectivamente. Las especies S. rubicundus, C. sanguinea, S. galapagoensis y P. confluens, presentaron la mayor distribución, registrándose a lo largo de todo el gradiente altitudinal. Mediante la elaboración de curvas de acumulación de especies, se determinó una eficiencia de muestreo de 85%, lo cual indica que se colectó gran parte de las especies presentes en el área donde se realizaron los muestreos. Mediante el dendrograma de similaridad de Bray Curtis, se determinó que las localidades de La Encañada y Zuñiga, ubicadas a los extremos del gradiente altitudinal, fueron las más similares en composición de especies, alcanzando un valor de 65%. The family Coccinellidae belong to the Coleoptera order, and comprises a great diversity of species of very varied habits and cosmopolitan distribution. Many species of Coccinellidae, such as their larval or adult state, are considered efficient biological controllers of a variety of agricultural pest. Therefore, the knowledge of the Coccinellidae fauna related to agriculture areas, is important to develop an integrated pest management programs, focused mainly on biological control. In this study, I review the samples that were collected in 2009 and 2010, using Malaise traps, from four areas: La Encañada, San Jeronimo, Pacaran and Zuñiga, wich are located in the Cañete river basin along the altitudinal gradient of 200, 400, 600 and 800 m a.s.l., respectively. The main goal was to determine the diversity of species from Coccinellidae family and its distribution, by the gradient of altitude, along the basin of the river Cañete, Peru. The total number of the samples were 1221, that include adults individuals from Sticholotidinae, Coccidulinae, Ortaliinae, Scymninae y Coccinellinae subfamilies. From this samples, were identified 20 species: Coccidophilus occidentalis González, 2012, Coccidophilus lozadai González, 2012, Mimoscymnus praeclarus Gordon, 2002, Rhizobius lophanthae Blaisdell, 1892, Rodolia cardinalis Mulsant, 1850, Stethorus sp., Scymnus loewii Mulsant, 1850, Scymnus rubicundus Erichson, 1847, Scymnobius galapagoensis Waterhouse, 1845, Nephaspis isabelae González, 2009, Diomus sp., Zilus sp.1, Hyperaspis arida Gordon & Canepari, 2008, Cyrea sp.1, Psyllobora confluens Fabricius, 1801, Cycloneda sanguinea Linnaeus, 1763, Paraneda pallidula guticollis Mulsant, 1850, Harmonia axyridis Pallas, 1772, Hippodamia convergens Guerin-Meneville, 1842 and Neda ostrina Erichson, 1847. From these 12 species, is M. praeclarus a new report in Peru. A relationship between species richness and the altitude was not established because the area of 600 m a.s.l. presents the highest specific richness (S=15), while the lowest specific richness was in 400 m a.s.l. (S=9). The greatest abundance was presented to 400 m a.s.l. S. rubicundus was the most abundant species in all locations, followed by C. sanguinea, that represent 71% and 11% of the total number of individuals, respectively. For the species accumulation curves, was determined a 85% of the sampling efficiency, wich represent the majority of the species from the area that were collected. Using the similarity dendrogram of Bray-Curtis, was found that two areas of La Encañada and Zuñiga, located in the highest and the lowest altitude respectively, were the places with more similarity in species present between them, with 65%.Tesi

Dessa forma, este trabalho fornece o primeiro registro de Strongygaster brasiliensis (Towsend)(Diptera: Tachinidae) parasitando H. axyridis no sul do Brasil.

Despite their scientific and economic significance, the taxonomy of Coccinellidae remains unstable, and we still know little about their evolutionary history. By using a small number of genes, previous phylogenetic analyses have not reliably resolved the relationships among major ladybird lineages. In this study, we sequenced 94 nuclear protein-coding genes for 214 species of Coccinellidae and 14 outgroups, covering 90 genera and 35 tribes. We found that nucleotide compositional heterogeneity is present among ladybird tribes so that phylogenetic inference at the amino acid level is more reliable than at the DNA level. Based on the maximum likelihood analyses of the amino acid dataset, we recognize three subfamilies in Coccinellidae: Microweiseinae, Monocoryninae stat. nov., and Coccinellinae. The subfamily relationships are strongly supported as (Microweiseinae, (Monocoryninae stat. nov., Coccinellinae)). The tribes of ladybirds are mostly monophyletic, except Ortaliini, Sticholotidini, Scymnini, and Coccidulini. The phylogenetic relationships among tribes of Coccinellinae are still not well resolved, with many nodes weakly supported. Our divergence time analysis suggests that the crown group of extant lady beetles arose in the Early Cretaceous ~ 143 million years ago (Mya) and experienced a rapid diversification during the Late Cretaceous (120–70 Mya). We hypothesize that the boom of angiosperms in the Late Cretaceous promoted the diversification of herbivorous Sternorrhyncha insects, especially aphids, which in turn drove the rapid radiation of predatory lady beetles. In summary, our work provides a comprehensive time-calibrated phylogeny of Coccinellidae that provides a sound framework for revising their classification and understanding the origin of their biodiversity.

Molecular Phylogenetics and Evolution, 2011Co-Authors: Ainsley E Seago, Jose Adriano Giorgi, Adam ślipinskiAbstract:Abstract Ladybird beetles (family Coccinellidae) are a species-rich, ecologically diverse group of substantial agricultural significance, yet have been consistently problematic to classify, with evolutionary relationships poorly understood. In order to identify major clades within Coccinellidae, evaluate the current classification system, and identify likely drivers of diversification in this polyphagous group, we conducted the first simultaneous Bayesian analysis of morphological and multi-locus molecular data for any beetle family. Addition of morphological data significantly improved phylogenetic resolution and support for early diverging lineages, thereby better resolving evolutionary relationships than either data type alone. On the basis of these results, we formally recognize the subfamilies Microweisinae and Coccinellinae sensu Ślipinski (2007) . No significant support was found for the subfamilies Coccidulinae, Scymninae, Sticholotidinae, or Ortaliinae. Our phylogenetic results suggest that the evolutionary success of Coccinellidae is in large part attributable to the exploitation of ant-tended sternorrhynchan insects as a food source, enabled by the key innovation of unusual defense mechanisms in larvae.
